You should know about NTSE 2021 Exam Pattern to prepare well for the examination. Details regarding exam pattern are given in the following sections.

National-level and state-level exams follow the same question paper pattern and will have 2 parts.

  • Part I is a Mental Ability Test (MAT) which tests the candidate based on their analytical, logical and visualizing abilities. This section tests the candidate's reasoning, ability to think, evaluate, ability to discriminate and visualize.
  • Part II is a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) which covers questions from Mathematics, Science and Social Science subjects. This section judges the student's reading abilities, interpretation, evaluation and general awareness of the subjects.
  • According to NTSE 2021 exam pattern, both parts will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions Each.
  • Candidates can choose their preferred Medium from the offered list of languages mentioned on the Application Form.
  • Total Marks: 200 marks; 100 marks per section.
  • Duration: 240 minutes divided into two sessions.
  • Questions type: All the papers of NTSE state level and national level exams are based on objective type question with multiple choices.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for a right answer and there is no negative marking according to the NTSE exam pattern.
