How are Scores Calculated in the IBPS PO 2024 Exam?

The total marks that are considered for the final merit list of the IBPS 2024 Exam are from the combination of the mains exam marks and the interview marks. IBPS uses an equipercentile method for normalizing the scores of the IBPS PO 2024 exam.

This method is used so that even if the question papers of different slots have different difficulty levels, it will neutralize the scores. The scores above 40% will be normalized and 35% for reserved categories. Candidates who score more than the IBPS cut off will be called for the interview. The interview marks are normalized in a similar way i.e. above 40% and 35% for reserved categories. Finally, IBPS gives 80% weightage to the written examination score and 20% weightage is for the interview score.

IBPS PO Tie Breaking Policy

If two or more applicants score the same in any stage of the exam i.e. prelims, mains or the interview, date of birth will be used to decide who will get ahead. The candidate who is senior in age will be considered over the junior candidate.

This is done because the IBPS PO 2024 Exam defines eligibility criteria based on the age limit. After the upper limit is exceeded, one cannot appear for the IBPS PO 2024 Exam. Due to this reason, a senior candidate is given preference in case of a tie.
