Vidya Vikas Education Trust's Universal College of Engineering, Mumbai was ranked 1st among Top Emerging Private  Engineering Institutes in India by the Times of India for four consecutive years from 2015 to 2018. It was adjudged 10th in Maharashtra and 55th in India among India's Top 100 Engineering Institutes League by Education World in May 2018. 

The college has the IIT Bombay Remote Center through which students can attend lectures remotely and have interactive study sessions with the faculty of IIT Bombay. This facility is made available to the students through A-VIEW software. The college infrastructure is at par with AICTE norms and is designed by the renowned architect firm Perkins Eastman [USA] which has also designed some renowned education hubs like University of Pittsburgh [USA], Johns Hopkins University [USA] and Carnegie Mellon University [USA].

In the past few years, the students of this college have won many prizes in many competitions which have taken place in India's stellar institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Kharagpur and in other ones too. The college has had the placement rate of 79% and 73% in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The renowned recruiters are Amazon, Adobe Systems, Barclays Technology, BYJU's and Capgemini.
