The College imparts world class training and research. The College provides state of the art computing facilities to the students. It also promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services.
Some of the major research areas which the faculty members and students working on are Networks, Database, Theoretical Computer Science, Multimedia, Image Processing, Software Engineering and Data Mining.
The College provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 300 high-performance computers in the range of Linux, Windows workstations and a good number of laptop systems. In addition to general purpose file server, the department maintains two specialized servers for database clients and Linux based workstations. Department network communications include a fiber optic backbone, offering 16 Mbps connectivity to the commodity internet and provides intranet within the Hi-tech lab, which hosts 11 laboratories. The department has wireless internet connectivity via a campus-wide 802.11b network to the laptops.

TEC Central Library
TEC Central Library houses nearly 28,000 volumes of books and 5,800 titles enables the students in their study and research. An online journal database with a link to IEEE is also available. The spacious reading area lends a calm and comfortable atmosphere for students and faculty members to pursue excellence in academics. The library is equipped with all modern facilities on par with international standards. NPTEL video lectures are also available in various disciplines. This facility can be accessed inside the campus through intranet. Interactive lectures through Anna EDUSAT Ku-Band is also available for the faculty and students. It functions from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The library owns a book bank section for the needy students.
A well-equipped, modern cafeteria in the campus provides hygienic food at subsidized rates for the students, staff and visitors to the college. It works extended hours for those inclined for a quick snack amidst their various activists.
Nearly 12,000 sq.ft. have been earmarked for the canteen, stocked with popular items to provide refreshing breaks for the students within the campus itself.
Hostel and Dining
Separate hostels for boys and girls with spacious rooms and adequate storage areas is available. Hostel students can access the wi-fi facility. In addition, some rooms are provided with a wire connection. Access to internet from hostel is a facility that aids the quest for knowledge. Each hostel is attached with a modern kitchen, a dining hall, a reading room with newspapers, periodicals and magazines, a TV and a telephone. The study hour is from 8.30 pm to 10. The compulsory study hours in the hostel will be from 6 PM to 7.30 PM for girls and 6.30 PM to 8.00 PM for boys. Strict discipline is maintained.
The Campus has been interconnected through Wired as well as Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network. The facilities provided through these services are access to internet, intranet and institution based mail access.
The coverage of Wi-Fi is not restricted only to the classrooms but also extends to common areas like, Seminar hall, Library, Cafeteria, Sports Complex and student hostels.
With this infrastructure, the students have an access to all e-learning materials related to academics. TEC has become an exemplar to other institutions who visit the campus to view & understand the Wi-Fi setup and its achievements.
