Sukanta Mahavidyalaya Scholarship Details

Sukanta Mahavidyalaya scholarships are offered to students so that they can pursue their education without any financial hurdles. Scholarships and financial aid in the form of tuition fee waivers are offered to deserving students belonging to backward classes. Kanyashree Prakalpa
These scholarships are available for female students pursuing higher education and other courses. Female students passing class X are considered eligible for the Sukanta Mahavidyalaya scholarship. Students get their scholarship amount through bank transfers in their respective bank accounts.
Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
Sukanta Mahavidyalaya students from minority status like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains are eligible for the scholarship. INR 10,000 PA is awarded to minority students for smooth and hassle-free education. Students are given the Sukanta Mahavidyalaya scholarship from class XI to PhD courses.
Post-Matric Scholarship to SC/ST Students
The government of West Bengal awards the Sukanta Mahavidyalaya scholarship to SC/ST students pursuing PG courses at educational institutions in West Bengal. A maintenance allowance of INR 530 is given to the day scholars, and INR 820 is awarded to hostellers. Some of the eligibility criteria are listed below:
- Students must belong to the SC/ST category.
- Applicants must be a resident of India and studying at the post-matric level.
- Merit is taken into consideration in case applications are more than available slots.
- In case of the same marks, the student with a lower family income is preferred.
- Thirty per cent of the slots are reserved for female SC/ST students.
- Only two students from the same family can benefit from the Sukanta Mahavidyalaya scholarship.
