St Joseph's College Devagiri is a Christian minority Institute, envisioned by the CMI congregation and established in the year 1956. In the year 2010, the University Grant Commission (UGC) recognised the College is as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’. The Institution offers eleven Postgraduate courses, fifteen Undergraduate courses and six Research Centres under the affiliation of the University of Calicut.

St Joseph's College Application Form

The College follows online admission process to all the courses under Arts, Commerce, Science and Management studies. The candidates applying through the Management quota must submit separate application form at the Management office. The applicants through sports quota are required to submit a hard copy of the online registration along with the copies of relevant sports documents at the admission office.

St Joseph's College Admission Fees

The shortlisted candidates are required to pay the course fees as per the St Joseph’s College fee structure. The fee structure varies from one course to the other based on several factors.

INR 17,000/- is the per semester fees for BBA, BCA, B.Sc in Computer Science and B.Com in Finance and Computer Application.
The semester wise fees for MSW is INR 22,500/-

Entrance Examination Conducted by St Joseph's College

The Institute conducts entrance test for MA in English and MSW programmes exclusively for candidates who have not studied English as a core subject. It is for a duration of two and a half hours with questions worth 100 marks. The test is conducted to check the applicant’s knowledge in English, Literary Aptitude, Sensibility, Skill of Appreciation and Criticism and Writing Ability.

For MA English:

20 objective questions on 2 marks each
2 paragraph questions of 5 marks each
One short essay of 10 marks (to evaluate general awareness of literature and reading).
Two short essay of 10 marks (on concepts, themes, devices and other features of the
works prescribed)
One essay of 20 marks (Literary appreciation of a given poem/literary piece)

For Master of Social Work:

15 objective questions of 1 mark each (Test of reasoning)
15 objective questions of 1 mark each (Test of English Grammar, Vocabulary &
Comprehension)
10 objective questions of 1 mark each (Test of General Knowledge)

At the Undergraduate level the College provides BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA and BCA programmes in various disciplines under the University of calicut. The academic duration of all the Bachelor’s course is from 3 to 4 years.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to any of the UG courses is the successful completion of higher secondary education or its equivalent from a recognized board or council. The selection is strictly based on merit.

B.Sc in Mathematics, Computer Science	Passed class 10+2 with Mathematics group OR Higher secondary education in any combination with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Application.
B.Com in Professional, Finance, Computer Application	Higher secondary education or equivalent with at least one Commerce subject OR Passed 12th standard with an aggregate of 45% in six subjects (40% for OBC/ OEC) for candidates with no Commerce subjects.
BBA in Finance	Completion of class 10+2 with a minimum of 50% from a recognized board/ council.
BCA	Passed 12th standard with Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Additional Mathematics as one of the subjects.

The Masters courses offered by St Joseph’s College include M.Sc, MA, M.Com and MSW. Most of the Postgraduate programmes last for a duration of 2 academic years till completion.

The selection to any of the Master’s programme depends on the merit list generated in accordance to the norms formulated by the Government, the University and the Management. For MA in English and MSW, applicants who have not studied English as the core subject must write the entrance test conducted by the Institute followed by group discussion and interview for MSW.
