Admission Eligibility Criteria:

MD:

 The University offers admission for the following specialisations under the MD Programme:

  • Anaesthesiology
  • Biochemistry
  • Immuno-Haematology and Blood Transfusion
  • Medicine

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate for admission should have passed MBBS degree from a medical college recognised by MCI and completed an internship at the time of applying.
  • The candidate for admission must have registered with the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.
  • In case the candidate is already studying PG Degree/ Diploma course, he/she shall not be permitted to appear for entrance test unless they fulfil the requisite bond condition executed for the course they are presently enrolled in. The candidate should also submit an evidence in favour of the same from the University.

Admission application process:

MD:

 The candidate applying for admission must apply online through the University website.

Step 1:The candidate for admission should navigate to link “Apply On-line SVIMSPGET- 2021 ”.

Step 2: After reading the Prospectus carefully, the candidate is required to click “Apply On-line” and then click “Register” for opening Basic Admission Registration Page.

Step 3: The candidate must then create an account using a valid e-mail id, name and Mobile Number as part of the admission process.The full name entered should be as given in the MBBS degree certificate. The system will generate an application ID.

Step 4: The candidate can then logon to the admission application using the admission application number and password which has been sent to your registered email id and registered mobile number by way of SMS provided during the admission registration process.

Step 5: Fee payment: An amount of Rs.2000 plus taxes through online mode Debit / Credit Card/ Internet Banking.

Step 6: The candidate for admission will then be directed to Personal Details page where he/she must carefully fill the required details and click on “save”.

Step 7:Photograph: A recent colour passport size photograph with light background in the size not more than 500 kb in a .jpg/.jpeg format.

Step 8: Signature: The candidate\'s signature should be inserted in an area of 2” x 1” (inch) on white paper with thick black ball point pen. The signature may be scanned, cropped and saved in 500 kb in a .jpg/.jpeg format.

Step 9: Uploading the documents: The following documents are to be uploaded for the admission process:

  • MBBS degree provisional / original certificate.
  • MBBS consolidated marks memo. (If not available, computerized marks statement of all the years prepared in a single sheet and attested by Principal/ Gazetted officer to be uploaded)
  • Certificate of Internship.
  • Medical council registration certificate (Temporary/Permanent)
  • Caste certificate for those who are claiming under reservation category
  • Person with Disability (PWD) certificate for those who are claiming reservation under PWD category
  • Residence certificate for the candidates who are coming under non-local category

Step 10: The candidate should check if your admission application is completed in all aspects, and then only click “SUBMIT”. This will generate admission registration slip. You should take a print out of the “application” for future reference.

Admission Process:

MD:

 The candidate for admission will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati i.e., SVIMSPGET- 2021

An entrance examination for admission is common to all the post-graduate courses and consists of 150 questions of multiple choice type. The duration of the exam is 135 minutes. All the questions will be of one best/ correct response type having four alternatives. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. There is no negative marking for an incorrect response. The exam is computer based, i.e., it is conducted online.

The candidate for admission should be able to secure a minimum of 50% marks for open category, 45% marks for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs and 40% marks for SC, ST and Backward Classes.

Reservation:

 The statutory reservations will be applicable to the candidates of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward classes belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh only.

  • Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to S.V University region comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Cuddapah and Nellore in the following distribution:

MBBS:

Common for both NRI/NRI sponsored category:

The candidate for admission must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology)/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) / Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.

Age: You should have completed 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

  • For NRI category: The candidate for admission need to be the ward of an NRI belonging to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana States.
  • For NRI sponsored: The candidate for admission should have blood relation to the sponsor who can be in the form of father, mother, brother or their children, sister or their children, maternal uncle or his children, maternal aunt or her children, paternal uncle or his children, paternal aunt or her children, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother.

Admission application process:

MBBS:

The candidate for admission should download the Admission Application Form from the University website.

The candidate for admission should take a print out of the Admission Application form and then fill it with the required personal and educational details.

The candidate for admission should also affix a recent coloured passport size photograph in the space provided.

Admission Application Fee: You should pay the following Admission Application fee in the form of a Demand Draft (from any Nationalization Banks) drawn in favour of Secretary, BIE, A.P., Hyderabad

  • Rs. 500 in case you have studied in India.
  • Rs. 1000 in case you have studied abroad.

Enclosures needed for the admission procedure: You should attach the following enclosures along with the Admission Application Procedure:

  • Written / typed representation / application addressed to the Secretary, BIE, A.P. Hyderabad
  • Original Pass Certificates of 10th & 12th standard/class as the case may be.
  • Marks Memorandum list of 10th & 12th standard / class as the case may be.

  • By Post: Applicants seeking admission can also obtain the Application Form by post on submission of a Demand Draft for Rs.450 (Rupees one thousand and fifty only) along with self-addressed request letter.
  • Online: Applicants seeking admission can also download the Application Form from the website. In this case, you shall have to pay the Application fee of Rs.400 (Rupees one thousand only) by way of Demand Draft, drawn in favour of “The Director, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati” at the time of the final submission of the Form.
  • Applicants seeking admission should fill the Form completely in your own handwriting in Block Letters. You should not leave any column blank or incomplete.
