Student counseling and placement services :

A Placement cell was started in the year 1997 to cater the needs and placements of the out going final year students.  A Brief resume of outgoing students both UG and PG have been collected and a data base is maintained which is communicated to various public and private organizations.

Campus interviews by M/s N.F.C.L. Hyderabad, M/s Coramondal Fertilisers Limited, Chennai, M/s Indian Tobacco Company Limited, Rajahmundry, M/s Basic Company Limited, Chennai, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, Axis Bank, Indian Bank, Andhra Bank, Union Bank of India, SBI visited the campus and recruited students from UG and PG.  In addition to necessary guidance and information regarding placement as well as higher studies is being provided to the students. All the advertisements connected to the requirement of farm graduates are being displayed in the cell.

 

Student involvement in RAWE / equivalent programme:

 Knowledge coupled with experience makes the education purposeful and useful.  The best way for the students of agriculture is to acquire adequate practical skills so that he/she can deliver the goods as per the requirements of the farmer. Realising the need, ANGRAU introduced an innovative concept of RAWE programme in under – graduate curriculum in the academic year 1979-80. The final year students are deputed in the 7th Semester to stay in the villages along with the host farmers, work with them, and understand their problems to apply the latest agricultural technology with skills and confidence. The programme was quite successful for the last 30 years.

Recently, a new concept called Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) based on ICAR recommendations was introduced to train the students in order to make them self entrepreneurs through acquired  agro based industrial knowledge.
