However, the university has got some different reviews for each of the factors. The university predominantly lacks visits from top recruiting companies, has fewer student internship opportunities, and has no hostel facilities.

Shivaji University provides various types of courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. There are 34 doctoral departments across 10 major faculties in the institution. The candidates can choose from multiple classes, from Arts, Social Science, Commerce, Education, and Fine Arts to Law, Medicine, Ayurveda Medicine, and Engineering and Technology. Shivaji University also provides UGC-approved distance education courses. The courses offered at Shivaji University are not expensive compared to the other colleges in Maharashtra.

The course curriculum of Shivaji University is industry-relevant, preparing students effectively. The semester exams have a  passing criterion of 40%, which is considered to be manageable. The usual pass percentage is relatively high, reaching 80% to 90%. The syllabus of the courses offered at Shivaji University is regularly updated to align with industry needs.

Qualified Faculties

The faculty at Shivaji University is highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive of the students. The quality of teaching methods is commendable, and most professors hold Ph.D. degrees. The instructors have expertise in their subject matter, enhancing the quality of teaching.

The university also provides medical facilities during college time.

In the Shivaji University, there are more than 30 laboratories with many computers and Wi-Fi facilities. Each of the smart classrooms in the university are digital, have stable Wi-Fi connection and have the latest equipment like projector and touch screen LED.

There is a library in Shivaji University which contains more than 5000 books combining all the departments. There is also a Central library with a thousand books available in the institution. The libraries are provided to the students of each department for reference purposes.

A canteen is present at Shivaji University, which has good food with quality taste and lots of food options. Shivaji University has a big playground available for sports and other activities. The university conducts regular events for indoor and outdoor games for the students. The university is overall well-maintained, safe and secure for the candidates.

Hostel

Unfortunately, there are no hostel facilities available at Shivaji University. The students have to resort to the PG and rental rooms with a mess facility at an affordable price, which are available for the students. Most of the students are staying in paying guest facilities. The rental rooms near the university are efficiently cheap. The rentals also have mess facilities where the food quality is very excellent.

Sub-par Placements

Although the placement options are plentiful at Shivaji University, there are concerns of the students regarding the sufficiency of salary package offers. The institution had previously promised to start early placements for the students, but unfortunately, the placements did not begin until the third year of their degree program. Irrespective of these factors, almost 70-80% of students were able to get placed.

The top recruiting companies at Shivaji University are Dassault System, Tech Mahindra, Hexaware, and DXC. The big MNCs who visit as recruiting companies also provide internship opportunities. On the downside, the average package of the students who have been placed is between INR 2.5- 6 LPA, respectively.

Jovial Campus Life

The specific details about the dress code at Shivaji University have not been defined by the administration. The university is not strict with the dress code policy inside the campus. The candidates thus have the freedom to choose their clothing style based on the fact that they look decent. The dress code policies at the university may vary between universities and departments.

The overall rules that are needed to be followed by the candidates inside the campus are simple. At Shivaji University, a student must fulfill the criteria of 75% attendance minimum. If any candidate is found to possess less than 75% attendance in a course during the semester, the candidate will be awarded an ‘XX grade’ in that course irrespective of the overall performance in the other assessments.
