Shillong College Infrastructure: Library, Gym & Other Facilities

Shillong College infrastructure is spread over a vast area of over 11.57 acres in Shillong, Meghalaya. It is equipped with all the modern facilities for holistic development. In addition, the college has amenities ranging from hostels to a library to a swimming pool. Some of the highlighting features of the Shillong College Shillong infrastructure are below.

Hostel: The Shillong College hostel has over 22 rooms with a common toilet/bathroom, kitchen, dining hall, office, store room and an emergency fire exit on each floor. There is 24x7 CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety and security of the students residing there. In addition, the Shillong College Hostel also has a Warden room, a guest room, and a sitting room for visitors or students to watch television.  

Library: The Shillong College campus has a library that has textbooks and reference materials required by the students and faculty members for their academic and research endeavours. In addition, encyclopaedias, directories, journals, e-journals, e-books, newspapers and magazines are included in the library stock. The Shillong College has a fully digital library and an American library for the students. The library is wifi enabled with a peaceful ambience for studying. 

Art and Culture Gallery: Shillong College infrastructure includes an art and culture gallery. The gallery was built from the reward money awarded to Shillong College by the Department of Tourism of the Government of Meghalaya and the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum during the Autumn Festival of 2009. 

The gallery is a hub for students embracing their culture and performing arts, songs, music and dance programmes under the supervision of their faculty members. Debate and quiz competitions are also organised here on the Shillong College campus.

Gymnasium: Shillong College infrastructure includes a well-equipped gymnasium. The college believes in maintaining the students' physical and mental health by helping them stay active and fit. Therefore, the gym is under the supervision of the gym instructors and has all modern machinery, weights and dumbbells.
