Among the many things that SPUVNN is renowned for, its supportive and experienced faculty, along with its course structure, makes it a unique choice for students. Set up in 1955, Sardar Patel University has built its legacy for its academics as well as for its green and clean campus. Over the years, the university has created many milestones, one such being setting up one of the first Engineering colleges in Gujarat. 

SPUVVN has been listed by NIRF on various parameters, such as management and overall category. Moreover, it has received prominent awards such as the ETNow award, the Manubhai Memorial Award, and many more.

Despite such recognition, Sardar Patel University faces many challenges, which result in severe drawbacks. One such is the dwindling placement rates. Students have been seen dissatisfied for a long time with their current and past placement scenarios. While a few companies visit the campus for placements, its median salary packages raise concerns. The compensation offered by the companies is way below the industry average. Such negligence paves the way for the talents to get exploited without good compensation.

Well-structured & Updated Academics

SPUVNN has etched its name in providing the most current, well-planned, and well-structured academic programs. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs. Science, Arts, Technology, and Law are some of the fields in which these courses and degrees are offered. The courses are thoughtfully designed to keep up with industry demands and trends.

The primary reason students are willing to be admitted to Sardar Patel University is because of its educational competencies. This is made more evident by the students' organic reviews on various online platforms. The courses also impart management and leadership skills that enhance the capabilities of the students.

Expensive Course Fees

SPUVNN's course fees are expensive. For instance, an M.Sc. will cost up to INR 76,000 yearly, while an MBA can cost up to INR 68,000. BCA can cost approximately INR 14,000 a year, and BBA can cost around INR 12,500 a year. To combat such steep course fees, the university offers scholarships based on merit and the social and economic condition of the students.

Supportive & Experienced Faculties

Sardar Patel University has one of the most experienced faculties in the field. Not only are they experienced, but they are also warm and supportive to their students. Students have expressed their satisfaction with their concerned department's faculty members. The faculties work with the students to ensure that the student's academic goals are achieved and no doubts are left unresolved. 

The majority of the professors possess PhD degrees. They are actively involved in academia themselves. They employ unique teaching methods to make the lectures interesting, thereby increasing the attention span. 

Well-built Infrastructure 

Sardar Patel University, being a government university, receives steady funds from the government to take care of its infrastructural requirements. And it indeed has made good use of its funds. Each department at SPUVNN has its laboratories. The equipment at the laboratories is ample and well-maintained. Because of such a facility, students do not need to struggle for the same in the labs. The classrooms are well-built with various technologies. They are also well-ventilated and spacious, so the students are comfortably accommodated in them.

The library at the university holds many genres of books. It has a host of books, periodicals, journals, newspapers, magazines, research papers, and many more. One of the most striking features of SPUVNN is its lush green campus. It instantly grabs one's attention. The campus premises are also kept clean and hygienic. The entire university campus is lined with a security system, which makes it safe and secure. 

The university has well-built sports facilities and encourages students to participate in it. Apart from the facilities mentioned above it also includes seminar and conference halls, and other necessary facilities.

Well Furnished Hostels

SPUVNN'S hostel facilities are comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well-ventilated. The rooms are available on a sharing basis, where 4 students share one room. However comfortable it is, few students have raised concerns over the cleanliness and hygiene conditions of the hostels and their bathrooms. Since students have to share the bathrooms, it is crucial that they are kept clean and hygienic. This seems to be one of the major concerns for the students. 

The food facilities available are of good quality at a reasonable price. The hostel charges are approximately INR 7,500 to INR 15,500. Students can also avail various paying guest and hostel facilities available in the city at different price points. 

Poor Placement Scenario

Over the years, Sardar Patel University has been inefficient in providing a fruitful placement record. To this day, only 70% - 80% of the students get placed. In addition, only a handful of companies visit the campus to recruit students. The placement cell looks into the recruitment process. It is also responsible to groom the students and make them adept professionals fit for the job. 

As per the student's online reviews, the median salary package offered is between INR 4,00,000 and INR 5,00,000 LPA. This goes even lower in some years. Looking at all the statistics, the picture that is presented is grim. Students who study at SPUVNN come with loads of talent. Such compensation by the companies only tends to exploit such hard-working individuals. 

Cheerful Campus Life

Life at Sardar Patel University is the whole of life. There is a host of events that are celebrated throughout the years that keep the students engaged and entertained. The students get to take part in various sports and cultural activities and festivals. The annual college fest is one of the most anticipated events in the university. Most of the students at SPUVNN are from the state of Gujarat. Hence, there cannot be much cultural diversity. 

 There is no strict dress code or uniform. In addition, there are also no stringent rules and regulations. However, basic rules need to be followed to maintain decorum. Students are also subjected to comply with the 75% attendance criteria. Failing to do so might attract disciplinary action. 

Is SPUVNN Worth it?

To have sound and well-structured academics, SPUVNN provides one of the best facilities in Gujarat. Such an updated curriculum is also coupled with friendly and experienced faculties who help the students achieve their academic goals. The university also offers a good infrastructure that the students can make use of. The significant fallout, however, is the placements.

If one is aiming to grab a good placement package, then one should give it a good thought before choosing Sardar Patel University. Neither are there good companies nor companies that offer good compensation.
