Class timings are from 9.30 to 5.30 maximum according to the year of pursuation and department. Projects and assignments are always uploaded to a student portal named GIS where deadlines and other details are provided. Method of teaching varies on the department the student belongs, but all over the quality of teaching and knowledge is quite informative. Overall experience is good, a student with many dreams has to work with all focus. A successful dream can be achieved easily if classes and college are given priority.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

Student societies like IEEE, ISTE, ISA, CSI are associated with our campus. Rotaract club is also associated with the college. We celebrate Navratri night every year. We do have a techfest with technical and non-technical events along with project expo, workshops following annual day with Bollywood night, DJ night and much more. We also celebrate the women's day on a great platform.

The daily timings are generally between 9.30 to 5.30 (max). They vary differently on days for an hour or so. On Saturday we have a half day (9.30 to 12.30 ) And obviously holiday on Sunday. Exams are taken as two per sem. One is the internal exam for 20 marks taken by the college itself and another is 70 marks main exam taken by GTU. 10 marks are allowed under ALA. Active learning assignment and 20 for file work, another 30 based on Viva's and practical. If you sum up all you get a result based out of 150 marks. I would say that sometimes it feels a boredom or so but it well with respect to other self-finance colleges it's nice. We do get reading vacations for a month before final exams. Overall it's a pleasant atmosphere... Infrastructure is good, labs are well maintained. Now I have kept this point in last. The Teaching experience in GCET is awesome. You get teachers graduated from IITs out here. All of them are very good in teaching conceptual and clear the whole subject in deep. For this, I would rate 9/10. If you want to learn to engineer than GCET is one of the best in Gujarat.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

There are many student societies as per the branch.. ISTE (INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION.) ASME (AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERS) GCET ALUMNI CLUB (1000 RUPEES IS THE FEE WHICH IS AGAIN COMPULSORY..) IEEE ( FOR ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS) ICHEE(FOR CHEMICAL BRANCH) NOW you do get paid workshops at very less price (20-100 ruppees) every day or so which are very well to attend. The college organizes it's own tech fest every year that's Imaze : www.imaze2k18.com Which is dope! There is also a rotary club and GCET sports comittee which organizes all sports event Also you can participate in Amul volcano organised by well known Amul. It's a cultural techfest. The life in general in GCET is good (obviously not as good as IIT) but yeah you will enjoy learning in GCET because of the unity of students along with coordination of faculties.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY
  • A self finance institute with very less campus area, classes are on regular basis I.e, Monday to Saturday, 10:30am to 5:30pm, timings are bit odd cause they take almost whole day, Projects are repetitive and assignments also mainly based on writing part very less opportunity to do something technically innovative things , faculty has good knowledge and most of them delivery out good lectures, laboratories are ohk , not best but you can learn only conventional things. Course decided and exams taken by Gujarat Technical university cannot make a student sound in technical knowledge.
  • Overall most of teachers are good, if one thinks themselves to be an average its a good college.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
  • Many student societies are there IEEE, iiche, ASME etc. Rotract club which does social events.
  • Main tech event Imaze its good and Cultural activities by college are also good.
  • Life of college totally on events and other activities cause its better off campus than in campus.

About GH Patel College of Engineering & Technology [GCET], Vallabh Vidyanagar

Vallabh Vidyanagar, named after the late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel -- the 'Iron Man of India' -- has over the last fifty years been developed into a well-known seat of learning. The educational township, established in 1946, today provides pre-primary to postgraduate education. The presence of Sardar Patel University, here has boosted the pace of progress of educational activities.

On this campus, more than twenty thousand students pursue academic programmes in many different disciplines. Several gardens, tree-lined avenues, a huge playground in the heart of the township, and a rural environment enliven academic activities on the campus.

Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel, an eminent philanthropist of Gujarat, made a generous donation of Rs. Three Crores for the new college. In honour of this magnanimous gesture, the college has been named G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology, or GCET.

A plot measuring over 1,80,000 square feet has been allocated for constructing the main college building with a total built-up area of about 2,00,000 square feet.

LIBRARY

The Central Library began its existence way back in 1996. Since then, it has grown in size and content along with the GCET to take the present shape. All these years, it has been the lifeline for the academic activity of the institute. At present, it stands as one of the best libraries in terms of the number of books and journals, an undergraduate degree engineering college can have a modem library with a lot of automation.Central Library serves the academic needs of about 1879 UG students and nearly 114 faculty memb
