MICA Application Form 2020

The application form for MICA admission 2020 can be obtained from the official website of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.

  1. Visit the official portal of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.
  2. Click on apply now link of the program/course.
  3.  Enter the details such as name, phone number, email ID, etc.
  4. Agree to the terms and conditions.

MICA Admission Fee

  • Under MICA admission 2020, admission fee for the 2019-21 academic year for all the postgraduate diploma programs of two-year duration is INR 20,00,000. The proposed amount would cover residential charges, tuition fees, infrastructure facility charges, etc.
  • For the Fellow Programme in Management - Communications (FPM-C), INR 25,000 has to be paid by the candidate along with the admission offer acceptance. 
  • MICA admission fee for the Crafting Creative Communication program (CCC) is INR 8,36,620 including residential charges, tuition fees, infrastructure facility charges, etc.

MICAT & GE-PI

MICAT (MICA Admission Test) and GE-PI is a combination of a comprehensive test and a series of interactions with the candidates. The test has been conducted for admission to the postgraduate program (PGDM or PGDM-C) at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their marks in XAT, GMAT, CAT, and MICAT. 

MICAT

MICAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT), conducted twice a year in over 48 cities across India. A student can write both MICAT I & II. Candidates can apply for MICAT after attending any one of the XAT, GMAT or CAT examination, the application fee for MICAT is  INR 1985. The test has been organized to test the candidate's key skills, awareness and ability regarding contemporary industry-related and social issues including areas covering business, advertising, marketing, and media. GE and PI (Group Exercise and Personal Interview) consist of a series of interactions with the students to test their eligibility and suitability for strategic communication and marketing-driven industry areas. There is no prior preparation is required for GE and PI. 

MICA PGDM  Admission 2020

Under MICA PGDM admission 2020, Mudra Institute of Communications offers management courses of PGDM-C and PGDM in various fields such as digital marketing, design, data, creativity, and innovation. Both the PGDM-C and PGDM are separate courses while  PGDM has 6 credits worth Urban Impact Project as a compulsory component. All the academic programs under PGDM-C and PGDM has been approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). Also, MICA PGDM-C is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation). The proposed course is equivalent to an MBA degree by AIU (Association of Indian Universities). The seat intake for PGDM-C is 180 and PGDM is 36 for the upcoming MICA academic year.

Apart from other B-schools, MICA offers PGDM, PGDM-C programs focus mainly on strategic marketing and communications. To be eligible for MICA PGDM admission 2020, a candidate must require a Bachelor's degree according to the 10 + 2 + 3 system. MICA FPM-C Admission 2020 

The Fellow Programme In Management - Communications (FPM-C) at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad is the first program of its kind in India. MICA FPM-C is a doctoral-level interdisciplinary program approved by AICTE. Under the institute, MICA FPM-C program aims to encourage fundamental and applied research in the marketing and communication domain.

MICA FPM-C Eligibility

  1. The applicant must have a Master’s degree (Postgraduation) or equivalent qualification from AICTE, UGC or AIU approved institute.
  2. The student must have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from the field of communications, humanities, management or social science. Also, an understanding and exposure towards Media, Marketing, PR, Advertising and Journalism is an added advantage.
  3. The applicant must have completed his/her bachelor’s degree or equivalent academics from AICTE, AIU or UGC notified college or University after finishing 10+2. 
  4. NRIs and foreign nationals with non-Indian degrees which are equivalent to AICTE, UGC or AIU are eligible to apply.

MICA FPM-C Admission Criteria

Under the admission criteria for MICA FPM-C, eligible students shall be called for a Telephonic Interview. Further, shortlisted students will appear for MICA’s FPM Admission Test. The admission test is a three-day process consists of Written Test (WT), an Individual Presentation (IP) and a Personal Interview (PI).

FPM Admission Test Day 1

  • On the first day, a written test will be conducted to check the student’s theoretical understanding of communication, the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions and the ability to investigate a communication phenomenon.
  • The written test is an open book exam that is descriptive in nature on the basis of prescribed readings.
  • Candidates who have been shortlisted from the Telephonic Interview will be sent the prescribed readings through Email. They will have to read them critically and bring the copies to the WT(Written Test).

FPM Admission Test Day 2 and 3

  • The next two days consist of Individual Presentation (IP) and Personal Interview (PI).
  • For the IP, the student will have to present a topic based on the research proposal which has to be submitted.
  • They will be given 15 minutes to conduct  PowerPoint (PPT) presentations to a panel of experts.
  • In the personal interview, a panel of experts will assess the candidate's passion for research and personality.
  • Details regarding timing and test structure shall be sent to students shortlisted for the FPM Admission Test.

MICA FPM-C Application Guidelines

  • All the applicants are requested to provide correct information.
  • MICA holds the right to change/cancel or re-schedule the admission test venue. 
  • The application fee must be paid online through the payment gateway.
  • Two letters of recommendation to be uploaded in the prescribed format in the online application.
  • Candidate has to upload Statement of Purpose (SOP) which has to be typewritten in a word document and uploaded in the given link. The statement of purpose should answer the given questions.
  1. Why do you want to pursue the FPM-C?
  2. What are your professional and career goals?
  3. How do your research interests match with the four sub-areas of MICA’s FPM: Communication and Marketing, Communication and Media, Communication and Social Change, Communication and Culture?
  • Upload the proposed research in a maximum of 1000 words. Also, the candidate has to mention  3 MICA faculty whose work is aligned to this area.
  • Applicants are advised to produce supporting documents such as transcripts of academic records, certificates of 10th, mark sheets, certificate of 10+2, certificate of graduation, certificate of post-graduation (all years/semesters), M. Phil. (if applicable) and NET/JRF (if applicable). Candidates are not supposed to attach mark sheets other than these documents.
  • Students should provide summaries or abstracts of any unpublished or published research work which they might have completed. Students are not supposed to attach the entire document.

Note: Selection to the particular program is based on the FPM Admission Test performance, academic performance from 10+2 and the research or professional work experience in communication and media.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the PGDM(C) programme requires a Bachelor's degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
