MS Ramaiah Medical College[MRMC] Bangalore was founded in 1979 by a charitable trust named Gokula Education Foundation (Medical). The College was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Karnataka and is recognised by the Medical Council of India(MCI).

MRMS MBBS:

Ramaiah's MBBS programme covers all preclinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines through theory classes and clinical training as mandated by the MCI guidelines. The duration of the course is 4.5 years plus a one-year compulsory rotating internship. The College focuses on integrated learning for students to understand the role of each discipline in diagnosis and treatment. The students are trained at the Hospital and also taught through lectures, tutorials.

Fellowships:

Ramaiah medical college Bangalore offers Fellowship programs in various disciplines. Main programs come under this programme are Fellowship in Perinatal Medicine, Indian Diploma in Critical care medicine, Post MBBS Critical Care Certificate course.

Fellowship in Perinatal medicine focus on the training of Paediatricians in the basis of neonatal care. At Ramaiah candidates from rural areas give preference to train and upgrade their skills and enable them to practise these advanced skills in rural towns. With the help of this fellowship, MSRM hopes to effectively train doctors to bring about the change in their own communities through better clinical practice. The Duration of the course is 1 year and the number of students intakes for this course is two for the month of January to June and two in the month of July to December.

Fellowship on Indian Diploma in critical care and medicine is affiliated to the Indian Society for Critical Care Medicine. Ramaiah Medical College is one of the few colleges in India to offer a fellowship in this programme and a full-time Intensivist coverage. The duration of the course is 1 year for MD/MS/DNB postgraduates and 2 years for diploma postgraduates. Student Intake for this course is 2 students per year.

Candidates have to check their eligibility before applying for the course.

  • Candidates should have passed 12th standard and have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together).
  • Candidates should have passed English as one of the subjects.

  • Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all India basis by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

MS Ramaiah College Admissions:

Ramaiah Medical College Admissions are based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all India basis by the Central Board of Secondary Education. All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit through online counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority

For the foreign students who are applying for the MBBS course should have documents to prove their NRI/Foreign status (Eg. passport, work permit, school certificate, etc.). 15% of the total admissions like 23 seats for each year are reserved for the Foreign Nationals.

MRMC admissions are open to the fellowship programmes also. The procedure for that program is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and on the performance in the interview.

Hostel Details


MS Ramaiah College Hostel Details:

MRMC provides various facilities to its students. MRMC facilities include hostel facilities for both girls and boys. The girl's hostel is located in the Triveni Block and the Boy's hostel is in the Nilgiri Block and Ganga Block. Girl's hostel accommodates around 680 members while Boy's Hostel accommodates 310 members. 

Wifi is fully enabled on the campus. The hostel provides both double and single rooms with attached bathrooms and they provide the best housekeeping services. There is a common TV room inside the building. There is a mess which provides good food for the students.
