I haven't done an internship yet. Since I am a second-year student I didn't get the chance to attend one. Usually, third year students have the chance to participate in a number of internship opportunities. Companies like Goldman Sachs, eBay, standard chartered etc come for the placement. The average salary is about INR 25,000 per month. Loyola Alaa has a good network of aluminas. Oct 2nd is the Loyola alumini day.

  • There is a lot of scope for internships through Loyola College. With top firms like Goldman Sachs hiring third years for an apprenticeship leading to a job as analysts it gives a lot of exposure to undergrad passouts.
  • Also, over the years, companies like Zomato, D.E Shaw, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, and many other top companies have been offering students with really good packages

  • There exists a compulsory internship programme in the winter of the third year and it lasts a month. It is thoroughly audited. At the end of the second year, the selected students intern at institutions such as Goldman Sachs and Barclays with a view to attaining a Pre Placement Offer (PPO).
  • The World renowned companies such as D.E. Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, McKinsey, Deloitte and others hire from campus; across fields ranging from consulting to FMCG to financial services.
  • Salaries range around Rs. 8.5 lakh and usually a 100% of the economics and commerce batches are placed.
  • It is harder to estimate the figure for the arts and science streams, with most students in the latter going into research.
  • Considering the college is nine decades old and is called the 'St. Stephens of the South', the alumni network is large and includes notable figures such as P. Chidambaram and more infamously, the Maran brothers of Sun TV & SpiceJet infamy.
  • As for the efficacy of the network, it is entirely what an individual can make of it.

  • The internship is one thing you will have to do for your exposure. Either you can go out to your internship or stay in college for it. But the college is not going to grant you any stipend for that.
  • For the record, there is no campus selection for this course at Loyola College.
