The Vidyasaarathi scholarship, Kanyashree scholarship, the JSW UDAAN Scholarship, and JSW UMEED Scholarship are some of the scholarships which the students can avail while getting enrolled in the college. On average about 50% of the students decide to apply for these scholarships. Loans aren't generally needed because the annual fees are totally feasible.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : I live nearby Kolkata, so I don't really need to stay in the hostels. Consequently, I'm unaware of that section of information. We've never really had offline college classes after my admission to the UG course, therefore I'm also unaware of the quality of meals and cafeteria in the college. I've only been to my college thrice yet I can inform you that the classrooms are well-spaced. Each room on the floors is well-lit with ample facilities. The library especially is my favourite spot. Located in a secluded corner of the top floor, the library provided a suitable environment for a bibliophile like myself.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Students graduating from 12th grade, applying for the English Honours course in Lady Brabourne College, are required to have the minimum criteria of 80% in English in the class 12 board examination. There is no sort of entrance examination held by the college. The Comprehensive Merit List for English honours is prepared based on the Index Marks secured by the respective students. This course is open for students coming from any stream. Admission is conducted strictly based on the merit of the student. Eligible candidates are required to register themselves and proceed to apply according to the steps jotted on the admission site of Lady Brabourne college. During the application, the student must make sure to enter the asked details correctly. Consequently, they'd e asked to submit required documents which will help in finalizing their application submission, note that no changes/editing would be allowed after the final submission. Reservation of seats for SC/ST or OBC is offered by the college. Admissions will be taken strictly as per vacancies in various categories.    

Placements & Internships : Personally, I haven't done any internship my college has offered me, yet I've only heard good things about them. In the course of my year with the college, my professors have made sure to provide me with ample opportunities to learn and expand my resume as per my requirements. Being a first-year student in English honours, we have only been offered internship positions for content writing and digital marketing with average figures of around INR 5000 per month. Personally, it seems like a good offer to gain experience from. The alumni network of Lady Brabourne College is a group of strong-knitted individuals who strive to help each other through the dire situations of their needs. Young alumni of the college often are invited over for webinars on various topics to spread their effective knowledge on us, students.

Academics & Faculty : My daily routine as a first-year English honors student starts with classes from 10 am. Generally, we have about three classes with ample breaks in between, but busy days of the schedule can go on till 4 pm in the afternoon as well. The class timing is very favorable for students and professors as well. Projects and assignments are usually handed over the first week of the last month of the semester. The project submission becomes a bit stressful due to the ringing of the deadline for submission and the end-semester exams. The teachers use critical analysis and interactive discussions of the lesson as the basic method for teaching. Additionally, projects and assignments circling the syllabus help us understand the working of various research papers and theories surrounding the text. Overall the experienced group of professors strives to instill the best knowledge among the student body. I as an individual, am highly satisfied with the strategic working of the English department.
