Language Lab

Physical Education

Healthy mind exists in a healthy body, so the department of Physical Education plays a critical role in educating the whole students. Physical education is unique as it is the only programme that provides students with opportunities to learn more skills, develop fitness, a gain understanding the importance of physical activities. Students will be provided an individualised, developmentally appropriate, and personally challenging instructional programme that will advance the knowledge, confidence, skill, and motivation needed to engage in a life long, healthy, active life style. This department plays a key role in students life by disease prevention, decreased morbidity and premature mortality and increased mental health and self esteem. The benefits of physical education can also affect academic learning. The ultimate goal of physical education department will also be participation in health enhancing physical acrivity for a life time.The Physical Education Department is headed by a qualified Physical Education Director and facilities for Foot ball, Volley ball, Shuttle badminton, Ball badminton, Hockey, Cricket, etc exist. In addition, facilities for indoor games and a mini gym are also available. The college encourages students to take part in intercollegiate tournaments also.

Hostel Facilities :-

Two separate independent 4 storied buildings are available in the College Campus to accommodate the ladies and gentlemen under the care of resident wardens. In addition resident tutors are also available in each floor. Adequate fresh water and round the clock electricity by captive power generators ensure uninterrupted services. Health and nutritious variety food with changes in menu, based on student inputs, is provided in the mess.

Boys Hostel

BOYS’ HOSTEL at KITS offers separate hostel facilities for fresher’s, which can sustain more than 200 students at a single instance. A maximum of three students are permitted to each room. Distinctions are rendered for recitation rooms in each level which is separated from a mutual room allotted for relishing television. There is a badminton courtyard, football play arena and a table tennis table attached to boys hostel where in the students can practice events and do drills. Each level has a inhabitant warden from teaching crew who matches the apt balance to maintain the view of the students and at the same instance observe good regulations within the hostel inner views.

Girls Hostel

GIRLS’ HOSTEL at KITS are offered with supreme facilities within the college campus arena. The girl’s hostel has allotted rooms, which can accommodate more than 350 members. The hostel consists of a large mess hall and reading halls. To keep the First year students safe and secure we have kept a separate section in the hostel. Gentle curators and firm security guarantees a soothing stay, per missing students to limelight on their academics.

Canteen / Restaurant

To meet the requirements of both hostlers and dayscholars, a canteen with variety menu is functioning within the college campus. Variety breakfast, lunch, evening tiffin etc are provided in clean and hygienic environment. The facilities as well as the workers are periodically cleared by health and food safety authorities. Facilities are also available for day scholar students to have their noon meals brought from their homes.

Conveyance Facilities

Day scholar students are transported to the college and back by a fleet of college buses, operating from Thiruvalla, Nattakom, Kottayam, Ettumanoor, Pathanamthitta, Mundakkayam, Chingavanam, Manarcadu, Kidangoor, Ayarkunnam etc.Bus passes are to be procured by paying the appropriate fees, based on boarding point.

Medical Centre

The college has a qualified medical attendant catering the needs of students round the clock. The dispensary has few beds to enable students to take rest, undergo first aid and treatment within the college itself. Cases needing attention beyond first aid are referred to the nearby hospital situated about a kilometer from the college.

HR Counseling & Training

Orientation and induction programmes are arranged to enable the entrance to orient them towards technical education, using the expertise of expert consultants. Further personality development programmes and placement trainings are given to the  Senior students to fare well in interviews and to be successful.

A staff advisory / Tutorial System function in KITS where in a limited number of students is placed under the charge of a faculty (Staff Advisor) who monitor all activities of the students, both academic and non- academic are give periodic feed back to guardians. Students needing counseling are identified and counseling arranged with a view to modify and overcome shortcomings.

City Union Bank / ATM

The college is facilitated with a city union bank’s ATM which is perfectly maintained so that no students face an uphill task to proceed with their duties.
Situated within the college premises this ATM proves to be a blessing in disguise for our students.
