The Karnatak University of Dharwad was established in the year 1949 and is one of the oldest Universities in the state of Karnataka. It became a Statutory University on 1st March 1950. The University provides courses in the fields of Science, Commerce, Humanities, and Education and has over 50 departments. KUD Scholarship and fees concession will be given to needy students, i.e only for those who are eligible. Admission is done on the basis of the merit, 50% of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects at qualifying degree examination (all three years), and 50% of Cutoff marks obtained in the Entrance Test. For Undergraduate courses, the students are chosen on the basis of merit. The University follows Reservation policy by the Government.
