The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University of Distance Education, Hyderabad was started in the year 1983. The school was originally offering B. Tech correspondence - cum - contact program (CCC) from 1983 to 2009. Keeping in view of the MHRD and AICTE guidelines, the B. Tech (CCC) has been suspended since 2010.

Now the University is contemplating to develop the school by starting New and Innovative Technology Management Programmes at P.G. and P.G. Diploma level. It is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.  

It offers a one-year Postgraduate Diploma program in continuing contact mode in Industrial safety. It also offers PG Diploma in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs in correspondence cum contact mode.
