Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Panipat was the first Catering College in Haryana, started in the year 1973 having Two year Diploma Course in Hotel Management and Three one year Diploma Courses in Food Production, F&B Service, Hotel Reception and Book-keeping under the Department of Tourism, Haryana.

In year 1988, the Two year Diploma Course was converted into Three year Diploma Course by the Department of Tourism, Haryana and in the year 1994, the Three year Diploma course got affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula, Haryana.

Since March, 2012 The Institute is running as an autonomous body Registered under The Haryana Registration and Regulations of Societies Act, where Principal Secretary Tourism, Haryana is the Chairperson of the Society.

Institute of Hotel Management Panipat is now affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India) a premier body in Hospitality and Catering Education in India. As a result Degree Programme with an intake of 60 students was started in the session 2013-14.

Infrastructure :-

Food Production

Modern techniques of food presentation form the core of this skill oriented course. Knowledge about Hygiene and Nutrition is also imparted to students through extensive classroom coaching. In addition, participation in various food festivals, exhibitions and functions provide valuable exposure to students also. Demonstration and practical training are carried out in different kitchens such as Basic Training Kitchen, Quantity Food Kitchen and Advanced Training Kitchen.

Bakery & Confectionery 


Industrial Training of Students :-

Being a professional Institute imparting skill based job oriented courses, placement of all students is ensured. Students have a variety of training and job options with leading hotel chains and catering establishments.

The trainees of 3 Years Degree Course and 1½ Year Diploma Courses of academic session 2013-14 have been placed for industrial training in following reputed hotels / restaurants / catering establishments:
