Classes are held in batches of two-time slots. A morning batch and an afternoon batch. Quality of teaching is good and method is through lectures. Self-study is an important factor. The overall experience of the college is enriching.


There are all kinds of student bodies ready to encompass any newcomers that the college might bring. There's an annual fest called Aachen. Sports opportunities and the chances to go out for sporting events in fests of other colleges are always available. College life is very fruitful if one knows how to manage it.

About ILS Law College:

ILS Law College (ILS), Pune was established in 1923 by Indian Law Society a Public Charitable Trust. The college is a model of cultural integration with over 1600 students from across the country and abroad on a roll. It is one of the renowned institutes for legal studies, which is accredited with ‘A+’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is ranked amongst the top ten law colleges in the country by the India-Today ORG-MARG survey.

The institute was set up with the objective of providing facilities for the study of law on a scientific basis.  The campus of the college is set amidst a picturesque location, in the heart of Pune, with all the state-of-the-art facilities complemented with top class legal education imparted by the college. ILS Law College was initially affiliated to the University of Bombay. With the establishment of the University of Pune in 1949, the college got affiliated to it.

  • College facilities comprise majestic architecture buildings with world class resources.
  • The campus of the college extended from the Saraswati Building which houses the library, the reading room, the administrative office, the conference hall and the Principal's office.
  • The college has another building, which is Laxmi building comprises over fifteen halls for regular lectures, legal aid center and an auditorium with a capacity of 400 people, used for guest lectures, college functions, and presentations.



The active placement cell of the college imparts final placement and summer placement to all its learners. The placement cell of the college trained its learner through rigors training through their eminent faculty of each programme. The objective of the placement cell is to provide proper training to bring students to a required level of employability.

  • Students belonging to certain backward classes, viz. nomadic tribes, scheduled caste, scheduled tribes, and notified tribes (vimukta jaati) whose annual family income does not exceed Rs 60,000 received from the Central Government tuition fees, other fees, and examination fees, and a maintenance allowance of Rs 190-205 p.m.
