• The Candidates admitted through IIT JAM must have a Bachelors's degree.
• The students from the OBC-NCL category must require 55% of marks in Bachelors's degrees.
•  The students from  SC/ST and PWD Category required 50% of marks in Bachelors's degrees.
• Above mentioned hostel fee includes Hostel Overhead Fee (Each Semester) of INR 660.
• Above mentioned mess fee includes  Mess Advance (Each Semester) of INR 12000.

Scholarships at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Kharagpur:

• SC/ST students whose parental annual income is not more than INR 50920 are eligible to get a free seat in the hostel, free basic menu, and INR 250 per month as pocket allowance for a maximum period of two years of M.Sc. study.
• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of INR 1000 p.m. up to 25% of the students (for the first 2 years of M.Sc. program)
• All students admitted to the Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. will be given a waiver of tuition fee for the first two years of M.Sc. only.
• Students not covered under items 1 and 2 above will be paid a scholarship of INR 1000 p.m. for the first 4 semesters provided they give an undertaking to continue with the Ph.D. program.
• A scholarship of INR 5000 per month for the first two years of the M.Sc. program will be paid to the students who join the Ph.D. program. The total amount will be released after the Ph.D. registration.
