Placements & Internships : My Internship Company - Deloitte US India Pvt Ltd. Role - Functional Consultant Final offer - not yet (1st year) Key Industries and Companies Sales and Marketing - 33% of batch (prominent recruiters being - Dabur, CCD, Emami) Strategy and COnsulting - 21% of batch (Deloitte, Cognizant Business Consulting, KPMG) BFSI - 15% of batch (Royal Bank of Scotland, CRISIL, SBI) Average Salary Figures - 11.92 LPA Size and effectiveness of Alumni network: IIM Trichy is just 4 years old. Hence the alumni base is small, but growing tall. Effectiveness hasn't surfaced much, but we expect a snowball effect in years to come. Conclusion: Placement figures are catching up. But it needs more companies to visit the campus, especially in Operations and HR. The growing alumni base will hopefully contribute in years to come.  

Clubs & Associations : On a broad level there are Committees and Clubs: Committees are Placement Committee - handles placements and other recruitment activities Cultural Committee - arranges all the cultural activities, festival celebrations and the Cultural Fest - Rhythm Academic Committee - acts as the bridge between PGP office and students in matters of Academics Food and Beverages Committee - Handles the food and beverages arrangements of hostel and during special occasions Infrastructure Committee - handles infrastructural issues of the hostel as well as those put up during special occasions B - Fest Committee - arranges the Business Festival - Arcturus Sports Committee - Arranges all the sports related activities Clubs are divided into two types: Academic Clubs Finvest - Finance Club Marketing and Advertising Club Persona - HR Club Sigmaeta - Operations club E - Cell - Entrepreneurship Cell Non - Academic Clubs Podium - Debate Club Break Free - Dance Club Drama Club Swara - Music Club Sports infrastructure is currently shared with NIT Trichy, with whom we are sharing the campus. We use their grounds for football, basketball, volleyball and cricket which are undoubtably the most played sports in the campus. We also play badminton and table tennis in their indoor court. The latter also has a moderately maintained gym, where gym enthusiasts work out. Many make use of the grounds for running as well as jogging as well.  

Academics & Faculty : Academic Schedule For first years, classes usually start at 8:30 and they end by 1:30. 3 sessions of 1.5 hrs each span that period with 15 mins break after each session. The schedule can get hectic depending on how the PGP office actually schedules them. On a personal note, Term 1 and Term 3 were relaxed in this respect, while Term 2 schedule was actually tight on time. Projects again vary with faculties who are handling the subjects. Their weightage usually lies in the range of 15 - 40 percent. They can have sub sections which will split the overall weightage. For example, the Project component of the subject Competition and Strategy had an overall weightage of 30% which was divided into - External Analysis of the Industry (12%), Internal Analysis of the Company (12%) and Recommendations(6%).Tests are a mix of Mid Term Exams, End Term Exams, Announced Quizzes and Surprise Quizzes. End Term is a mandatory component for each subject. Faculty can decide to do away with Mid Term exams and quizzes as per their discretion and replace them with other components. For example, in the subject Operations Management, End Term had a weightage of 40% and Announced Quizzes (15%) each had weightage of 60%. There was no weighatage associated to Mid Terms or Projects Assignments can be anything from a hard copy submission to video uploads. They bring out variety of the ideas of the students and faculty make it a point to make them as interesting as possible. Choice and relevance of Available Courses In house faculty of college is strong in the lines of Finance, Marketing and HR. So the choice of courses are plenty and relevance justified. Operations and Strategy and are two areas which need attention in this regard. Though there are core courses associated to them, the general perception is that there can be a few more addons which can be beneficial to those who are inclined to this line of management. Quality and Methodology of Teaching IIM Trichy follows a case based approach in all the subjects. Faculties make sure they choose the right cases which are in line with the core aspects of the subjects. One common observation is that quality of methodology of teaching varies a lot with experience. The faculties in Finance, Marketing and Operations top the charts here. Younger professors are really trying hard and improvements are very evident. But overall, except for very few subjects, where an entirely different approach didn't meet catch upto its expectations, the students are satisfied with teaching. Professor accessibility outside classes Professors at IIM Trichy promote a formal approach to meet them outside class hours. The reason behind the same is that, they have other responsibilities to take care of as well other than classroom based ones. Hence we take formal appointments through mail or in person, and then meet them at the prescrived times. Cancellations of such sessions are rare, and if such events happen, it is intimated to the students in advance.  

Fees & Scholarships : College Fee - 11.50 Lakhs Scholarship Options Provioder - SOCIETE GENERALE INDIA TALENT SCHOLARSHIP Criterion - Economically backward Percentage of students securing the scholarship - 1% Availability of bank loans Status - Easy Major Players - SBI, Canara Bank, ICICI, Union Bank of India Conclusion - Financial aids in the form of bank loans are abundant. But scholarship providers are less. Institute can work on the issue and get a few more sponsors.    

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Quality of Classrooms, Labs, Wifi - Very Good Quality of Dining Halls and Hostels - Moderate Commuting Facilities - Moderate Conclusion: The lack of permanent campus hampers good hostels and dining halls. We are actually sharing the same with NIT Trichy campus. Commuting facilities are average. If one has his/her own scooter or a bike, it becomes much more easier.
