Great Lakes Institute of Management had its best ever placement season for both the 2015 graduating classes of PGPM and PGDM with recruiters lapping up most of the students by January. The placements of PGPM Class of 2015, Charismatic Cholas, at Great Lakes, Chennai, saw participation from leading companies across industries and functional areas with top recruiters like Accenture, Airtel, Amazon, Cognizant, Deloitte, Genpact, HCL, KPMG, MuSigma, Snapdeal,TCS, Universal Consulting, Wipro, ZS Associates and many more, recruiting students in large numbers. While IT/ITES and Consulting remained the top recruiting industries, Analytics and E-Commerce emerged as new major areas.

Charismatic Cholas the PGPM Class of 2015, is an eclectic mix of students from diverse educational backgrounds and industry experience ranging between 2 to 5 years. Recognizing this talent pool, several new corporates participated this season in large numbers, offering exciting roles. Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, HSBC Technologies, Infosys, iNautix, ITC InfoTech, Mogae Media, Scope International, TCS and Wipro were the largest recruiters in terms of offers made, while Amazon India made the highest offer. The Average CTC increased from 11.43 lakhs p.a. last year to Rs. 12.02 lakhs p.a. till date. As on 12th February 2015, over 90% of the 376 students eligible for placements are either placed or have sabbaticals from their employers. The remaining students are expected to be placed in coming weeks with multiple processes planned.

The 2015 season saw several new roles being offered in emerging areas like Analytics and E-Commerce. Business Analytics emerged as a major area with 17% of the students taking up profiles in the area offered by Analytics, Consulting and IT firms. E-Commerce recruiters included majors like Amazon, Caratlane, India, Matrimony and Snapdeal. IT/ITES continued to dominate with almost all leading IT firms in the country participating and picking up students in large numbers, making Great Lakes their most preferred destination of choice for recruiting management talent.
