Govt Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Dehradun was established in 1982 with the support of Ministry of Tourism to give students a quality and up to date information on the hotels, tourism, and management. This institute has been approved by  All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE] by the Ministry of Human Resource Department [MHRD].

The institution is rated as one of the best institutes in the whole northern part of India. Being one of the oldest colleges in North India, it has an edge in providing excellent assistance in education for the students. The Institution is offering 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering and 4 years of Hotel Management course.
