One of the well-recognized known as Government Law College was established in 1979, is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai from the academic year 1997-1998. Government Law College is accredited by the Bar Council of India [BCI] and imparts education in law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Government Law College Scholarships:

• Government scholarship: From 1977-78, all kinds of scholarships [residential and non-residential] relating to post-matric studies shall be approved subject to 90% attendance by the students who seek and are eligible.
• Scholarships are also provided by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University

Government Law College Admission:

Government Law College, Coimbatore provides number of admission to the number of students. Candidates can apply online. 

• The candidates can visit the Government Law College official website 'glccbe.ac.in' for admission.
• Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination under 10+2 pattern with not less than 45% of marks which is recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Tamil Nadu, are eligible for admission.
• For S.C./S.T. candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission for B.L. 5 year Degree Course of study as prescribed in the regulations will be given.
• Candidates who have passed a three year Degree Examination of Universities in Tamil Nadu and Such degree awarded by Member Universities of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi for purpose of mutual recognition on reciprocal basis, after 10+2+3+ or 11+1+3 pattern and also recognized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University alone are eligible for admission to LL.B (3 years) Degree Course.
• Government Law College Admissions Process is done through academic merit and counseling.
• Admission to 3 Year (LL.B ) / 5 Year (LL.M.) Degree Course is also based on academic merit through counseling.
• A candidate who has passed the LL.B Degree Examination and has secured not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in all the Three Years of the Three Year B.L. Degree Course or in all Five Years of the Five Year LL.B Degree Course together, as the case may be, shall be eligible to apply for the LL.M Degree Course. However a relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belong in to SC/ST communities.
