This college, the first women college of the Government in the District of Sivagangai, established in 1998-99 commenced the first year classes on 27.08.1998 in Raja Doraisingam Government Arts College cultural centre. Thiru. R. AYYAPPAN, assumed charge as the special officer for this college on 23.07.1998.

The Government of Tamil Nadu allotted 3.58 Hectare or 7.5 Acres Land in Kangirangal Village for providing a permanent building for this College. In the year 1998-99 Rs.50 Lakhs by Honorable Thiru P. Chidambaram, M.P of this constituency and Union Minister, Rs.25 Lakhs by Hon’ble Thiru. T.Krishnan, M.L.A. of this constituency, Minister for Highways and in the year 1999-2000 Rs.22 Lakhs by Thiru E.M. Sudarsana Nachiyappan, M.P. of this Constituency has been given from their respective Constituency Development Fund, for constructing the building.

With this financial assistance the elegant building of this college was constructed. Honorable Education Minister Thiru. Anbazhagan, inaugurated the building on 23.08.2000 and the college is functioning in this new building. Late Thiru.T.Krishnan, Honorable Ex. Minister and M.L.A. contributed an additional amount of Rs.10 Lakhs from his Constituency Development Fund (1999-2000) for upgrading the Computer Science Department of the college. Presently students are being admitted in four faculties BBA, B.Com. B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc Home Science as per Government Order 371. M.Com. Post Graduate Course was commenced in Academic Year 2005-2006. For all the faculties the teaching is provided in English. The association of old girl students is actively functioning, in this college.


To provide Higher Education to the economically backward and down-trodden Students.


This Government college has achieved this goal by way of giving the higher education to the economically backward students at affordable costs. In addition to education, this college provides the overall development of the students by exposing to various co-curricular activities such as sports, N.S.S, YRCS, Red Ribbon Club, Perosnality Development Cell, ED Cell etc. Through the Computer Literacy Programme, computer education is given to all the students of this college and Government Certificate will be given. Many students of this college have got employment opportunities in Central, State and in many Private companies. Some students have got jobs in abroad.

Placement Report

Coaching for Bank exams were conducted and all the final year students appeared for it. Among them 2 students got through the exams successfully.

Coaching for entry level exams in Government offices were conducted with the financial aid of the UGC. Students are encouraged to attend all competitive exams like Group II, VAO exams etc.

A Competitive exam awareness program was conducted on 24/06/2012 by Mr.Bharathi dasan and Mr. Dhanikasalam LIC Officers, Sivagangai.

Meritorious students can take an advantage of Central Sector Scholarship/ BC students can avail Minority Scholarships.
