Gargaon College, established on 7th September 1959, is one of the premier institutions of higher education in Assam. Affiliated to Dibrugarh University, the College came under the deficit-grants-in-aid system of Govt. of Assam in 1966. The College has been assessed and accredited by NAAC for the first time in the year 2004 and reaccredited in the year 2010.

The College has three faculties in Arts, Science and Commerce and there are Sixteen Departments at present, Viz. Assamese, English, Economics, Political Science, History, Education, Sociology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics and Commerce. Gargaon College Admissions offers courses in one of Assam's leading higher education institutions, offers graduate and certificate courses in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce. B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., Certifications and PG Diploma are included in these courses. The admission is made based on merit in the college.

Gargaon College Courses:

Gargaon College B.Sc Program

It is a 3-year program that is designed for students with a keen interest in the science aspects. It provides in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in various fields of science. Gargaon College B.Com Program

It is a 3-year program that is designed for students with a keen interest in the principles of Accounting and Finance. The program aims to enhance the student's subject knowledge in commerce related domains. This course is also ideal for those who wish to pursue Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting and Company Secretaryship. After completing BCom, students can also pursue careers in management, teaching, advertising, law, journalism, mass communication, law, design, etc.
