Infrastructure Facilities at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology University:

GIET University is spread in a vast area in the city of Gunupur [Rayagada, Odisha]. The university offers many amenities on campus.

Library:

• The library of the university [also known as Knowledge Centre] is opened to the students at all the hours of the day
• The library is air-conditioned and has a seating capacity of 500 students at a time
• It is an automated library and uses international standard software to operate
• The students can access the library via WebOPAC with the help of wifi available on campus
• The library of GIET University has a collection of 63,968 volumes of books
• It also has 5,480 T volumes, 104 national and international journals, 4441 CDs and DVDs, over 670 subscribed e-journals, 49 magazines, 21 daily newspapers etc
• It is a member of DELNET as well
• Some of the other services offered by the library are -
  • 24 hours of power back up
  • Photocopy and Scanning facility
  • Lamination and Spiral facility
  • Security and Paper Clipping Services
  • It also issues ID cards to the students

Hostel Facilities:

• In an area of 62 acres, the Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology University has constructed 32 hostels
• 22 of these hostels are for boys and 10 are for girls
• The total housing capacity of these hostels is 3,500 at a time
• All of the hostels have an in-house lecturer-superintendents along with matrons, caretakers and welfare officers
• Each hostel has been provided with facilities like cable TV, indoor and outdoor games, telephone, newspapers, water purifiers, generators, voltage stabilizers and many more
• All the hostels are visited regularly by the principal, dean, warden and a doctor as well
• The campus hostels are meant for boys and have all the relevant facilities like a common mess with a massive kitchen and a dining area
• The dining area has a seating capacity of about 1,700 students
• Other facilities offered at the hostels include a gymnasium, swimming pool, etc

Sports and Recreation Facilities:

• GIET University offers many facilities for indoor and outdoor games
• There are ample facilities provided for games like volleyball, badminton, cricket, basketball, football and swimming
• The swimming pool and the basketball court of the university are built as per the international standards
• The university hosts many inter-college tournaments, annual athletic meet and inter-class matches
• The gymnasium of the university is equipped with an upright bike, spin bike, treadmills, stair climber, stair master, nautilus, etc
• Furthermore, the university also has a Yoga and Meditation Centre

Other Facilities:

• Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology University has a fleet of 22 buses offering transport facilities in the areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur and Jeypore 
• It also has a Student Centre which is the hub of all the student activities, it has a multi-cuisine restaurant as well and a ultra-modern 16-stage Gym station, Table Tennis and Music club.
• The campus 5 generators of a total capacity of 937 KVA
• The campus offers wifi internet facility with a speed of 200 Mbps
• There is a dispensary in the campus with MBBS and Homeopathic doctors available all the time
• There are 2 ambulances assigned for fast service during emergencies
• 3 provision stores are also constructed on campus
• A parlour that serves fruit juice, numkins, soft drinks, ice creams, etc is also present on campus
• The university campus has an SBI branch and an ATM
• GIET University has guest house facilities with 16 AC suites with attached washroom, double bed, 1 common kitchen, dining hall and wifi facility
• Well-furnished campus apartments are offered to the principal, senior faculties and supporting staff
• There is an in-campus CBSE school as well
