P.Purushothaman is the Chairman and Founder of the Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. He has a versatile personality who is actively involved with several industrial and educational activities. He is the chairman of well known “Empee Group” consisting of Star Hotels, Alcoholic Beverages, Sugar Mills, Chemicals, Distilleries, Power generation etc. He has created the Empee Educational and charitable trust with a noble object of establishing educational institutions, particularly professional colleges and technical schools to impact quality education. Mr.M.P.Purushothaman is basically hotelier who is closely associated with the so many hospitality organization. He is the past President of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association and President of Tamilnadu Owners Association. His rich experience contributes to strong linkage between institution and hotel industry which enhance the employability and many exciting career opportunities to our students. Eligibility for Admission :-

Minimum Qualification
Minimum qualification for admission is pass in the final examination of 10+2 system or its equivalent for degree program and 10 th pass or equivalent for diploma program. Admission will be subject to verification of the original certificates and other relevant documents to be produced by the candidate. Decision of University regarding eligibility shall be final.

Physical fitness 
All qualified candidates will have to submit a certificate of physical fitness from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given in the information brochure. Admission to the allotted course will be granted only if the candidate is declared physically fit for pursuing the course of study.

Age limit
Minimum age limit is 15 yrs for diploma and 17 yrs for degree. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ pre university certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling , this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will be unqualified.
