The Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute offers various scholarships and financial assistance programs to students based on their academic achievements. These scholarships are granted to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, subject-specific expertise, research skills, international backgrounds, and alumni connections. The scholarships aim to provide students with financial support to help them pursue their education and career goals. 

Additionally,  Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute recognizes students' achievements in sports and cultural activities and offers scholarships in those areas as well. The amount of scholarship and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the university's policies and funding availability. Students are required to submit applications and supporting documents to be considered for scholarships.  Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute scholarship programs encourage and support academic excellence and diversity in its student body.

The students on their satisfactory performance and depending on their merit in qualifying exams, shall be eligible for the grant of the following merit scholarships.

• Central Sector Scheme Scholarship
• University Scholarship

Central Sector Scheme Scholarship

• The Scheme for College and University Students is a centrally-funded merit-cum-means scholarship initiated by the Department of Higher Education of MHRD.
•  It disburses scholarships to 82,000 graduate/postgraduate students every year, with an annual scholarship amount of up to INR 20,000 to help them meet their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
• Eligibility: Candidates above the 80th percentile of successful students who have passed class 12 Pursuing regular UG/PG courses with Annual family income less than INR 8 Lakh

 University Scholarship

• President scholarship
• Chairman scholarship
• Alumni scholarship
• Sports scholarship

   Note:

• Academic performance of a student shall be the sole criteria for continuation of the scholarship.
• Scholarships starting from highest slab shall be granted based on the merit.
• Scholarship will be awarded on Tuition fee only.
• Scholarship would not apply if there is gap between academic sessions.
• Only those students who have cleared their examination in their previous semester would be eligible for scholarship.
• Maximum one scholarship can be availed by the students whichever is higher.
