Birla College Of Arts, Science & Commerce, Thane was established in 1972, by Kalyan Citizens’ education society. It is an autonomous college that has an aim to be a premier institution for higher education which can fulfil the diverse needs of the students. The college is spread over 20 acres of land (including B. K. Birla Public School) in the prime location of Kalyan city and developed as an eco-friendly campus. As an initiative towards green campus, the college is focusing on the use of energy-saving devices, minimizing waste, rainwater harvesting, etc. and creating awareness about plastic-free campus. The Chairman and Faculty members have sponsored 25 new cycles to the needy students as a green initiative during the current year. Birla College admission 2021 offers 22 Under Graduate, 27 Post Graduate courses. The college has been recognized by the University Grants Commission [UGC]. This college has been reaccredited for the 3rd time by NAAC with 'A' Grade with CGPA 3.58 in 2014. The college also focuses on extracurricular activities like National Service Scheme [NSS], National Cadet Corps [NCC].
The College has been awarded the ‘Best College Award’ in the Urban category by the University of Mumbai (2009) and also awarded the ‘IMC - RBNQ Performance Excellence Trophy - 2011’ in Education. The College has been certified with the ISO 9001: 2015. Birla College admission 2021 offers 22 Under Graduate, 27 Post Graduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce, and 09 PhD programs in the subject of Botany, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology (under renewal), Hindi, History, and Economics. A PhD program is being introduced in the subject of Commerce. The College also conducts PG Diploma in Bionanotechnology and Advanced Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (A-DMLT). In the year 2015-16, the UGC has sanctioned a Community College for Diploma in Accounting and Taxation to our college.

The eligibility to enter the BMS course is 12th pass from any college. There are no entrance exams for this.
