“With International facilities and amazing faculties, Bennett University has been topping the charts. However, with unstable management, along with the lack of placement opportunities, students keep wondering if they made the right choice.”

Bennett University, established in 2016, is a relatively new private university that offers several programs majoring in the field of Engineering. Although the university has well-educated professors, the overall experience of students is not worth the money they pay for studying here. Often on various online portals, students have had multiple complaints about the extremely high tuition fees, food and hygiene, placements, and other facilities that are falsely advertised by the university. 

Nevertheless, the Computer Science Engineering and Law departments are at par with most universities, with an excellent set of teachers and updated facilities. Students who intend to pursue their higher education in the field of Engineering, especially in Computer Science, are encouraged, and the professors are always ready to help such students.

The university has the Nvideia DGC V100, a deep-learning supercomputer, which is accessible to students who have brilliant ideas for projects. With high tuition fees and the lack of placement opportunities offered, Bennett University is a mixture of both pros and cons.

Imposing Programs

Bennett University offers programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in selected fields. The university is popular for its Engineering programs, especially Computer Science and Law programs.

The Engineering and Law departments are highly recommended by the students as the faculties and facilities for these courses are remarkable. The campus has an impressive coding culture, which invites students with similar interests to participate in different intercollege fests. 

According to some students who have expressed their opinions online, the quality of education at the university has decreased over the years due to the increase in the number of students who are accepted for each course. Hence, the university is focusing more on quantity rather than quality.

In addition, exams are conducted without prior announcement, which leads to students not getting enough time for preparation. They schedule the classes for each time without considering the well-being of the students. Therefore, the administration of the university is not up to the mark.

The university has several clubs and communities for the different interests of the students. There are astronomy, dance, music and other clubs through which students can pursue their talents and skills. However, as per a few students, certain clubs are inactive and only meet a maximum of twice a year. So, it is the students’ responsibility to join the clubs after thorough research without wasting their time.

International-Level Infrastructure

The students, past and present, have unanimously agreed that the university has an impressive infrastructure compared to the other private universities. It has the updated facilities and requirements for each department as well as to enhance the overall college experience of its students. 

Bennett University, located in Noida, has an updated infrastructure with all the necessary facilities and amenities for academics and for the general well-being of students. The academic facilities include scientific and Media labs and research centres. The campus also has a functioning salon, laundry service, tuck shop and other amenities.

Interactive Classrooms

Like all modern-day classrooms, the university has very spacious classrooms, with equipment for audio-visual presentations to make the classes more interactive. The classrooms are air-conditioned, with a biometric system installed for attendance marking. The digital attendance system updates the Collpoll system automatically, which helps the students and teachers keep track of their attendance easily. The seating arrangement is done in such a way that the teachers can see all the students till the last row from their platform.

Central Libray

As the Bennett University is mostly inspired by international universities and colleges, the central library is very modern, with a well-furnished seating area. The library is filled with the latest books and journals to assist students in broadening their knowledge. The library has an integrated management system, KOHA, that enables students to self-check-ins and check-outs. 

Along with that, the library feature on the university mobile application can be used to renew and reserve books. They can also suggest the books they would like to see in the library. The central library has several other modern technologies that smoothen the library experience, which saves students from having to stand in queues for books. Along with the main library, the campus also includes a Law library with books and case studies for the reference of the LLB students.

Moot Court

The university has an in-built moot courtroom for the students to use for exams, competitions, workshops, or Skill Development sessions. Students can get a first-hand experience of an actual court through the mock court sessions.

Luxurious Hostels

Students who are from different parts of the country can stay in the university hostels situated inside the campus. The hostel facility is available for both boys and girls. These hostels have luxurious rooms for students, with air conditioning and other amenities essential for a comfortable stay. The university ensures the safety of the students through qualified security officers and CCTV cameras placed in all corners. 

Apart from that, the hostel includes the Rangeela Lounge, which is a relaxing space for the students to spend time with their friends and rejuvenate after a stressful day.

State-of-the-Art Laboratories

The university has more than 40 highly advanced labs for different fields, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Electrical Engineering, Bioprocess, Artificial Intelligence and Genetic Engineering. The most prominent labs at the university are below.

Media Labs

Apart from the labs for Engineering and Science programs, the university has a well-equipped media lab with the latest devices for audio-visual recording, with a sound-proof studio and post-production room. This helps students get real-world experience in the field of Media and graduate with the additional skills required for the professions. The media labs also have video cameras with teleprompters for students to record different projects easily.

The university does not have any particular dress code or uniform for the students. Neither there are any strict rules or regulations that they have to stick to. Although, like any other university, few basic rules and regulations are expected to be followed by the students.

Bennette University has been partnering with companies and international universities for academic purposes. They tend ensure that the students gets industry-specific knowledge. Some of the companies and universities that Bennette has partnered with are mentioned below:

Over INR 15.52 crore has been received as research and consultancy grants. A significant 88 patents has also been filed by the university. However, considering the research fundings received, more patents should have been filed by the university.

Diverse and Jovial Campus Life

With international collaborations and student exchange, Bennett University ensures to maintain a diverse campus. It admits international students as well students from the university are sent to international colleges. Every year, each students awaits the start of the its famous college festival Euphoria. It attracts huge crowds and sees cultural, tech, and sports events being organised.

Bennette University also caters to the extracurricular activities of the students. It has Basketball court, Football playground, Badminton courts, Cricket ground, Kabaddi , and more.

Top-Notch But Ill-Treated Faculties

The faculties in the university have been praised for their educational excellence as well as their helpfulness. The professors are mostly graduates from national institutes like IITs and NITs who have immense knowledge in their field. According to the students, the teachers are always ready to help the students with matters related to their curriculum. They go the extra mile to share reference and study materials with the students to help them understand the concepts better. 

Yet, the deans and faculties keep changing for each department frequently due to the improper administration and leadership of the management. This concern has been raised by many students on the internet. The teachers are not given the importance of the salary that they deserve based on their educational qualifications and experience, which makes them leave the university. New professors are getting fewer every year, which can cause a disproportionate ratio with the increased number of students joining the university in the future. 

Expensive Course Fees

Bennette Univesity has expensive course fees for many of the programs. As compared to the facilities and infrastructure offered, this exorbitant tuition fees do not fare well with the students’ pockets. The fees can range anywhere between INR 6-21 lakhs or more. 

Disappointing Placement Opportunities

The placement opportunities at the university have been disappointing to the point where the students are forced to talk about it under the university’s social media posts to get the attention of the management. They have claimed to have had a student getting placed at Microsoft with a package of INR 44 Lakhs per annum, but in reality, the student got the placement through their individual effort and not through the university.

Students are sent to other colleges to attend interviews conducted as pool campus drives, as the university does not invite any relevant companies to the campus. Overall, according to the students’ consensus, only 15 to 20 % of the graduates manage to get placed with offers of a minimum of INR 3 lakhs per annum. Students from Engineering programs like Computer Science Engineering have a better chance of getting jobs than the others.

Bennett University: Pros and Cons

All universities have their own good and bad sides. Students who are planning to join a particular university or college must research thoroughly about the course they plan to take and the institutes they intend to join. They must check if the institutes have good faculties and placements, as these are the essential parts of getting a proper education.

Overall, this university is a good option for students who are planning to pursue Engineering or Law programs, who did not get into other prestigious institutes, and for those who intend to pursue higher education through research programs. This university is definitely not the right pick for students who belong to less affluent families, hoping to get a good job at a good company right after their course.
