Toastmasters was the highlight for us. The other interesting thing was Armaggadon. The club had many students who participated. The students were of good diverse backgrounds. College is nice after 5 as well. Some of us played in the badminton court and sometimes went to the gym. Movies are played once in a while. Regalia was the college fest- people would dress up and come. The event had many from other colleges.
Infrastructure is something that I feel you should see. It cannot be described. Hostels are good, basic facilities are provided. Hostel for boys is 1.5 kms from college. whereas girls were 500m. It is better to take up hostel as food and accommodation are included. PGs are there but no security and cleanliness. Many issues have taken place at outside PGs. Better to be safe than sorry.
The director was telling us about 70-30 when it comes to learning. 70 is experiential and 30 is classroom based. So we had a lot of simulation, games, cases, projects and flip classes. Quality was good. Most of the faculty are PhD holders. Overall, very good academics.
The tuition fee for MBA at Acharya's Bangalore Business School is INR 7.8 lakhs. Scholarships are based on merit mainly. CAT and XAT scores will be considered. Got an admission here through referral. Very intense programme. I remember having sleepless nights on doing assignments. Many projects were given. Often had to give presentations. In the end, all the effort paid off. The faculty's advice helped me secure the right job in marketing. Usually, class avg percentage is 74-75. The selection process depends on this as well as GDPI. If your score is low, it will be hard. MAT score is usually taken 600+ is a good score to secure a seat. Nowadays ABBS takes CAT and XAT as well. Overall a wonderful experience made some good memories.
