Bangalore: The Sky of Possibilities
The tech and aerospace hub of Bangalore became a dynamic playground for the civil and aeronautical enthusiasts of Parul University. From buzzing laboratories to gleaming aircraft, the city offered students a firsthand experience where theories met real-world applications, and ambition took flight.
Sky’s the Limit with Rama Laxmi Ma’am
The tour began at URSC with Rama Laxmi Ma’am, Associate Director, who showcased India’s ambitious space missions — SPAdEx, Aditya L1, Chandrayaan-4, and Gaganyaan. Beyond satellites and missions, her message resonated deeply: hard work and dedication always pay off. Students toured cleanrooms where satellites are assembled, asked questions about future projects, and left inspired by the vast possibilities in aerospace.
A Step Back in Time at HAL
At the HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum, students walked through history. Iconic jets such as the Marut, MIG-21, HT-2, and the Lakshya pilotless target aircraft offered a glimpse into India’s aviation legacy. The experience emphasized that innovation builds on history, and determination makes even the loftiest goals attainable.
Learning from Legends at Vishweshwaraiah Museum
The visit to the Vishweshwaraiah Museum immersed students in the origins of engineering and flight. From mechanical models to Wright Brothers’ flight simulations, students witnessed how simple concepts evolve into transformative technologies, reinforcing that understanding history can inspire future innovation.
Industry Insights from Experienced Scientists
A virtual session with Debadatta Mishra, former ISRO and DRDO scientist, brought industry-level expertise directly to the students. They explored aircraft manufacturing, space development, and software technologies, gaining practical insights that bridged classroom learning with real-world applications.
Advice from Aviation Experts
From Hindustan Aviation Academy to Bangalore Aviation Industry Pvt. Ltd., experts like Sateesh Mysore and KE Girish introduced students to career opportunities, aircraft design, testing, and maintenance. Touring hangars equipped with Cessna, Airbus, and Boeing aircraft, students saw how precision and practical knowledge bring classroom equations to life.
The Fauji Way with Wing Commander Sonika Tanwar
One standout session was with Ex-Indian Air Force Wing Commander Sonika Tanwar, who explained “FAUJI” — Fighter, Agile, Unity, Joyful, Integrity. Her operational experiences and high-stakes missions inspired all students, particularly women, showing that courage, discipline, and devotion are universal pathways to success.
Up Close with Aviation Technologies
Visits to Wipro and TAAL Tech India Pvt. Ltd. gave students a firsthand look at airport IT solutions, runway maintenance, ATC operations, and aircraft handling. Presentations like Sandeep Thakur’s on airframes emphasized that just like aircraft, strength and safety come from a solid foundation.
Hands-On Training at Dayanand Sagar College
The tour concluded at Dayanand Sagar College, where students explored wind tunnels, flight simulators, and modern manufacturing labs. Under the guidance of Dr. Ramaseshan Satagopan, they learned that self-confidence, perseverance, and continuous innovation are key to success in aeronautical engineering.
Taking Flight Beyond the Classroom
By the end of the tour, Parul University students had experienced the evolution of India’s aviation and aerospace industry — from historical achievements to cutting-edge labs, from leadership lessons to hands-on training. They realized that the sky is just the beginning; curiosity, dedication, and a willingness to learn are the wings that will carry them toward a future of innovation and impact in aviation.
