Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath, becomes India’s first AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, advancing NEP-aligned education with global tech collaborations.
On 26th July 2025, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated Chandigarh University’s Uttar Pradesh campus in Unnao, marking the launch of India’s first AI-augmented multidisciplinary university. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform higher education through AI integration, smart classrooms, and advanced labs, preparing students to be job-ready from day one.
The Unnao campus has already established collaborations with global industry leaders like Google, Microsoft, IBM, NSE, PwC, and more, ensuring that students benefit from both top-tier academic faculty and real-world industry mentorship.
The inauguration began with the Hon’ble Chief Minister planting a tree, symbolizing both sustainability and technological growth. This was followed by a tour of the campus and the unveiling of the foundation stone during a grand ceremony.
In his address, CM Yogi Adityanath lauded CU-UP’s alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) and Viksit Bharat vision. Highlighting the ₹2,500 crore investment, he recognized CU-UP as the most advanced among 47 private universities in the state.
Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu Ji, Hon’ble Chancellor and Rajya Sabha MP, emphasized the importance of providing world-class education within Uttar Pradesh, so that students can “learn, lead, and thrive” without leaving their home state.
The event was attended by Cabinet Ministers Mr. Nand Gopal Gupta, Mr. Yogendra Upadhyay, Dr. Swami Sachidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj, other dignitaries, and industry experts. This landmark event marked a significant milestone in India's educational and AI revolution.
