Scholarship Program at Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University offers scholarships worth INR 40 Crores to students who excel in the CUCET exams. Below are the details of the scholarship schemes available.

Merit-Based Scholarship Schemes

For Engineering Undergraduate Programs (Based on JEE-Mains Rank)

This scholarship is awarded based on academic performance and JEE-Mains rank.

Note: Maximum 5% of total seats per course are available under this scheme.

For MBA Programs (Based on National-Level Entrance Exam Scores)

Other Concession Schemes

1. Old Student Concession Policy

Students who continue their higher education at Chandigarh University after completing a degree at the university will receive a 10% concession on the yearly fee for the entire course duration.

2. Single Girl Child Concession

A 10% concession on the yearly fee is provided to a single girl child throughout the course duration.

3. Teacher’s Ward Concession

A 10% concession is available for wards of government or government-recognized school/college/university teachers with at least one year of regular service. (Maximum 5% of seats per course are available under this scheme.)

4. Sibling Concession

One sibling studying at Chandigarh University will receive a 10% concession on the yearly fee as long as both siblings are enrolled. The concession continues even after one sibling graduates.

5. Girl Sibling Concession

Both female siblings enrolled at Chandigarh University will receive a 10% concession on the yearly fee throughout their course duration. The benefit continues even after one sibling graduates.

6. Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS)

A special reservation and fee waiver scheme for the wards and spouses of Defence Personnel.

Priority for Reservation

1. War widows and wards of war casualties
2. War-injured and released defence personnel, spouses, and their wards
3. War-disabled defence personnel, superannuated personnel, spouses, and their wards
4. Wards of serving defence personnel
5. Wards of retired defence personnel

Concessions Under AFEWS

Defence officers on study leave are also eligible for a 20% concession on the semester fee (1% seat per course, minimum of 1 seat).

7. Chandigarh University Staff Concession

Wards, spouses, or real siblings of Chandigarh University staff (with at least one year of service) are eligible for a 50% concession on academic fees while the staff member remains employed at CU.

8. Orphan Concession

• 20% concession for orphan candidates
• 10% concession for candidates with a single parent

9. Alumni Scholarship

A 10% concession is available for real siblings, spouses, or wards of Chandigarh University alumni.

Gyan Kashi Scholarship (For Sikh Community Students in Varanasi)

Chandigarh University has allocated ₹64.56 Crores over five years (2023-2027) for Sikh students in Varanasi pursuing higher education.

Eligibility

• Must have passed 12th from a state or central-recognized board (for UG admissions)
• Must have a graduation degree from a recognized university (for PG admissions)
• Family income should not exceed ₹5,00,000 per annum (valid income certificate required)
• First 250 students will receive a 50% scholarship on academic fees (first-come, first-served basis)

C.V. Raman Scholarship for Science Students

A ₹3 Crore scholarship initiative aimed at promoting careers in scientific research.

Eligibility

• Must have completed 10+2 from CBSE, ICSE, or UPMSP
• Must have domicile of Uttar Pradesh
• Must pursue Medical or Basic Sciences at UG (B.Sc./B.S.) or Integrated (M.Sc./M.S.) levels

Scholarship Renewal & Conditions

1. Minimum Academic Requirements:

   • Students must maintain satisfactory academic performance.
   • No semester/year drop (except in Pharma D. program).
   • No “E”, “F”, “I”, or “Not Qualified” grades in the first attempt.

2. Scholarship Reinstatement:

   • If a student loses the scholarship due to academic performance, they can reapply the next year.
   • However, only 50% of the earlier scholarship will be granted.

3. General Conditions:

   • Scholarship swapping is not allowed.
   • Students cannot avail multiple scholarships.
   • Income certificate verification is mandatory where applicable.
   • Scholarships apply only to academic fees.
