Experiments List for CBSE Class Science Practical 2025
Here are some of the experiments you can expect for CBSE Class 10 Science Practical in 2025, along with a brief description:
Unit 1: Acids, Bases and Salts
- Finding the pH of various solutions using pH paper/universal indicator: This experiment involves testing different substances like lemon juice, vinegar, baking soda, and soap solutions to determine their pH levels.
- Studying the properties of acids and bases (HCl & NaOH) based on their reaction with litmus paper, zinc metal, and solid sodium carbonate: Observe how acids and bases react with these indicators to understand their acidic or basic nature.
- Action of water on quicklime
- Action of heat on ferrous sulphate crystals
- Iron nails kept in copper sulphate solution
- Reaction between sodium sulphate and barium chloride solutions
- Performing and observing the following reactions and classifying them into combination, decomposition, displacement, and double displacement reactions:
Unit 2: Elements, Compounds and Mixtures
- Observing the action of Zn, Fe, Cu, and Al metals on the following salt solutions (ZnSO4, FeSO4, CuSO4, Al2(SO4)3): This experiment demonstrates the reactivity of different metals with different metal salts.
- Arranging Zn, Fe, Cu, and Al metals in the decreasing order of reactivity based on the above results: Analyze the observations from the previous experiment to determine the relative reactivity of the metals.
Unit 3: Light
- Determination of the focal length of a concave mirror and a convex lens by obtaining the image of a distant object: This experiment involves using a screen, a candle, and a mirror or lens to measure their focal lengths.
- Tracing the path of a ray of light passing through a rectangular glass slab for different angles of incidence: Observe how light changes direction as it passes through a glass slab at different angles.
Unit 4: Heat
- Studying the heating effect of electric current: This experiment demonstrates how electricity can produce heat using a simple circuit and a resistor.
- Determining the specific heat capacity of water: Measure the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a known mass of water by a certain amount.
Unit 5: Human Physiology
- Studying the structure of a human tooth: Observe a model or diagram of a tooth to learn about its different parts and functions.
- Studying the human circulatory system: Use a model or diagram to understand the structure and function of the heart, blood vessels, and blood.
