A small group of residents of Malleswaram felt the need to have a college in the neighbourhood to cater to girl students in particular, who had otherwise to go as far as Maharani’s College for higher learning. Sri G. A. Acharya, Sri M. Chinnaswamy and Prof. B. R. Subba Rao got together initially and started a plus two college in 1956-57 offering the arts and commerce streams, with a student strength of 68. The Mysore Education Society (MES) was registered in 1958 when persons with similar vision such as Prof. MPL Sastry and Smt. Vimala Rangachar joined, Mysore Education Society took over the intermediate college and expanded its activities.

In 1962, courses of Science started in the college. Over the next six decades and counting, MES and MES College, as its flagship institution, have come to acquire a special place in the minds and hearts of tens of thousands of students, their families and the community at large. This is because of the strong belief of the founders that education is inspired as well driven by values and vision which have been sustained to this day. Despite having grown from a single college to ten institutions spread across four campuses with nearly 10,000 students, the faculty at MES continues to bestow the same personal care and attention towards the students and the management ensures that the students are provided with an environment to imbibe a strong sense of values. MES College has been steadfast in its ideal of providing affordable, value-based education and provides opportunities for the cultural development of students. The college celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2017. MES College of Arts Commerce and Science, Bangalore college was bifurcated according to the Karnataka Government order DCE|ROB|134|134|internal|2001-02 dated 07-08-2001 into MES Degree College of Arts, Commerce and Science and Pre-University College of Arts, Commerce and Science. The two colleges have been working on the same campus. Vision of MES College of Arts Commerce and Science in Holistic Development of Human capital with a ceaseless thirst for knowledge and creativity, a sensitivity towards civic responsibilities and a passion for recognizing and practising the rich traditions and cultural heritage of our country, with a commitment to continuously improve and provide quality education at an affordable cost.

MES College Science:

MES College of Arts Commerce and Science Bangalore offers aided and unaided courses combinations in B.Sc. and M.Sc. For M.Sc.(Mathematics), candidates are selected by the Department of Mathematics, Bangalore University and the College. The MES College has two ap­proved PhD guides under whom students can register for PhD.

MES College Arts:

MES College of Arts Commerce and Science Bangalore offers aided and unaided courses combinations in B.A. and M.A. For M.A. in Kannada, candidates are selected by the Department of Kannada, Bangalore University and the College Management. 

MES College Commerce & Certification Courses:

To eligible for Admission to B. Com, the candidate should have passed Commerce and Accountancy in the qualifying examination. Certification Courses are available for Communicative English, Human Resource Management, ASP .Net, Basic Mathematics etc. for which exams are conducted and certificates issued by Bangalore University and MES College.

MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science Placements:

MESCACS have three faculty members who are professionally trained student counsellors and they counsel the students on a need basis. The MES College Placement cell organises pre-placement training programme and career guidance. In 2017-18 the following companies visited for placement – Ernest and Young, EXL, Northern Thrust, Concentrix, ONLY, VIVO, TESCO, ALLEGIS and KPMG about 200 students were successfully placed.

The entire MES College is covered in a LAN and internet facility is available in all the departments and Labs. MES Library has 25 Systems which are available to students to surf the internet free of cost. MES College Library, Research Centre in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Physics Labs are equipped with "N-Computing Systems". The MES college has an AV room equipped with LCD projector and several LCD projectors, Question Bank to enhance the teaching-learning experience.

MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science Bangalore Library is an exclusive 5 storeyed building with 3 mezzanine floors housing over 50000 titles and 70000 Volumes. MES College student has access to journals, e-books, e-journals and competitive exam material. MES Library is fully computerized with facilities like photocopying, Internet, INFILNET services. The National Service Scheme (or the NSS in short) has been very active at MES. The NSS unit at MES College is as old as it is in Bangalore University itself. Annual Youth Day will be celebrated in our College premises by the students under the able guidance of MES Kalavedi.

After accommodating the students of M.E.S.PU College, seats are allotted according to Government directives regarding the reservation policy, within given category merit is considered as the basis of admissions. *Shortlisting for M.Sc is made by the Department of Mathematics, Bangalore University and candidates are allotted to the college.
