    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • The course fee is around Rs 2.5 lakhs per annum. It will increase every year around 12-15% due to inflation.
    • Scholarship options are there but on the basis of merit and on the basis of family income (Merit Cum Need) If family income is less than Rs 6 lakhs per annum.
    • About more than 50 % of students get a scholarship, I think at BITS. Not sure.
    • Loans are up to you. State Bank of Hyderabad which is located inside the campus provide loan.

    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:

Hostel rent is INR 9,000/- per semester. Despite the high fees there are scholoarships available, which are merit scholarship and merit cum need scholarship. The merit scholarship is solely on basis of academics, students having cgpa more than 9.5 get them. Merit cum need scholarship on the other hand is on the basis of both academics and family income. Most of the students who apply for this scholarship get it

    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • The fee is around one lakh rupees per semester excluding mess bill. Any other private college in India will have approximately the same or more fee than BITS. To get the full fee structure of BITS, follow the below given link :
    • Schemes are available here for waivering of fees. Merit and Merit-cum-Need scholarshis are there. These take our grades or/and economical conditions to judge whether to provide scholarship upto 80% of our fee reduction. Other scholarships like NTSE and KVPY are also applicable but only one of them will be accepted.
    • Around 100 - 150 students get scholarships ranging from 10 to 80% of there fee reduction.
    • Loans may be needed. There is a branch of UCO bank in the campus for opening an account and getting a loan. At the time of registration though many of the leading banks ,like Axis, idbi, hsbc, sbi etc, also visit the campus to facilitate the loan process. FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • The fee mounts upto approximately Rs 2 lakhs per year.
    • There are 2 types of scholarships: merit awarded to those who are amongst the top 1% of their stream and merit-cum-need who have poor financial circumstances.
    • Very few people get merit schoalrships. The competition is very high. Merit-cum-need more people get. The only condition is to have your cgpa above 7.
    • Loans are most definitely needed. Most of the students who study here are middle class. They are easily available. State Bank of India would be the topmst choice amognst students.
    Garvit B.E (Electrical/Electronics), batch of 2019
    10 Nov 2015 Rating :
    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • Fee is one of those places where students from middle class families will face trouble. To mention a few there is tuition fees (Rs 1 lac +), mess, laundry, electricity, room cleaning, insurance, cable charge & others which have to be made every semester (not to forget an admission fee of Rs 25,000). Along with thereare occasional expenses like Practice School Fee (Rs 80,000) which have to be paid in alternate years. To add to the list personal expenses like laptop, books & other project requirements. Expenses are not very easy to meet, keeping in mind the fact that fees is increased every year.
    • Students have the opportunity to apply for ‘Merit’ and ‘Merit cum Need’ scholarship for which some minimum grade is required. BITSAA also gives some scholarships but there are only handful of them.
    • Last reliable source left for students is bank loan which usually comes along with a high interest rate.

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The primary motive of BITS is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information". The Institute is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla - an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Indian Nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi). What started in early 1900s as a small school, blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the Humanities to Engineering until 1964 when all these colleges amalgamated to culminate into a unique Indian University of International standing. This university was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known to many as BITS, Pilani.

Over the years, BITS has provided the highest quality technical education to students from all over India admitted on the basis of merit. Its graduates may be found throughout the world in all areas of engineering, science and commerce. BITS symbolizes the maturing of Indian technical ability and "can-do" entrepreneurial spirit, especially as derived from the private sector. BITS is located in the Vidya Vihar campus adjacent to the town of Pilani in Rajasthan

Offered at the first tier, these degrees have nomenclature like B.E. (Hons.), B.Pharm. (Hons.), M.M.S (Master of Management Studies), M.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. (Tech.), and M.A. (Hons.). These are level wise equivalent degrees. They are considered to be integrated degrees for two reasons: (i) the degree program includes several cross disciplinary common coursessuch as basic math and science and, (ii) no intermediate degree, like, B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.), B.A., B.A. (Hons), etc. is awarded. These degrees are modular in structure and academic requirements are spelt out in terms of the number of courses studied rather than the number of years. All our programmes are designed in a way to facilitate completion within eight semesters. Our flexible academic policy gives students the option to complete their degree both at a faster pace (finishing it earlier than 8 semesters) as well as at a slower pace to finish it in later than 8 semesters.

    Our mission

BITS mission is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.

The Institute is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges. BITS is dedicated to providing its students with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of discovery with the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in each member of the BITS community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.
