Placements and Internships

3.5

I have done an internship before in AIESEC, a Web Development project. It wasn't a paid internship but the work was very interesting. I got to learn so much from it. Companies like Dell, TCS, MindTree, IBM, Aptus Datalabs, TEK Systems, etc come to IIIT Bhubaneswar for placements. Every year new companies come. 6 lakhs is the average salary for students getting placed through campus placements, 10 lakhs might be the highest salary earned through campus placements. Out of all the people around 90-95% of people gets placed. Alumni network is just building up since the college is new, everything is just in the beginning stage.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

For me to be honest, when I took admission in IIIT I had at least a tiny hope the campus size wouldn't be an issue. But when I actually went there, it was quite small. But whatever space they have they have utilized it quite well. Like the building and all, I must say it isn't quite bad. Our college building has mainly 3 blocks, which is impressive. Classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls and all are average. Wi-Fi is given to all students and teachers. Food reviews will be different for every student. For me mainly there are 2 problems, breakfast isn't heavy and healthy. Second is they don't give us nutritious food, very fewer fruits, and vegetables are provided. Meals costs around 20-35/-. Hostels in our college are quite nice, they have all kind of hostels including single, double, triple and quadruple room accommodations. Where triple and quadruple is for 9,000 per semester, and the double room is for 11,000. Single rooms which are the best is for 20,000.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria to get admission in IIIT Bhubaneswar is get an average score in MAINS and CBSE. Currently, IIIT Bhubaneswar is present in JOSAA, I got the Computer Engineering (CE) branch in IIIT Bhubaneswar through my MAINS exam rank and CBSE exam marks in the year 2017. Then I had scored 108 in my JEE MAINS (don't remember my rank) and around 85% in my CBSE Board exam.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

Class timings change every year. In our first year we had classes from 8:15am - 4:15pm/ 9:15am-5:15pm. Second year it was, 10:15am-3:15pm/10:15am-4:15pm. Nowadays our juniors are having a much better schedule cause. They have electives from 1st year onwards. While for our batch it just started from 3rd year. Projects are given from 2nd year onwards. In one semester we have two online quizzes, one midsem examination, and an endsem examination. Assignments are rarely given by teachers to just grade us individually on that basis, it is usually out of 5 marks. Method of teaching is quite good and the overall experience is even manageable and delightful.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

International Institute of Information Technology, [IIIT] Bhubaneswar Management Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 90,000 per semester. The scholarship is given to students according to their performance. Loans can be easily availed, mostly from banks like Andhra bank which is situated quite near our college.

Clubs and Associations

4

We have all kind of clubs including Tech, Sports, Programming society, News and Publication Society, Drama, Cult, etc. Festivals in our campus include Advaita (college fest) which lasts for 3-4 days, sports days are also there for each sport (there is no gender discrimination in campus, whatever sports event is there for boys will be there for girls too), Literary fests, etc. College life in IIIT Bhubaneswar is chill. Like we balance both extra curricular activities and studies. Faculties are also very helpful when we approach any seniors for any help including mentoring or any other work they are so ready to help us. There is a good relationship between students of all batch.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The course in which I am enrolled in is B.Tech (Computer Engineering). Those students who have qualified JEE Mains are eligible for admission in the college. After the result declaration of JEE Advanced, the college start releasing the cut-offs. Generally, they conduct 6-7 rounds and after that, there is a spot round. Also if after spot round if there are any seats available they conduct a special spot round which is done in August. First cut-off list for Computer Science Engineering is generally between the range 180-200 marks (obtained in JEE Mains). The last cut-off ranges between 120-140 marks. After the last cut-off, spot round is held in which the cut-off is decided according to the seats left in that branch. For spot round, the student needs to apply for that through the college website. Students need to check the college website for the date of the spot round.
