  • Samsung R&D also took many graduates for Rs. 12 l.p.a in the past.
  • IIIT Bhubaneswar being a nascent institute doesn't yet have a very strong alumni network compared to colleges which have aged a hundred years, still, the alumni of this institute are very helpful and few of them even started their own startups and provides help and support to many students.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • Infrastructure is very good at International Institute of Information Technology, [IIIT] Bhubaneswar, Hostels are compact and well maintained.
  • Hostel rent per semester is around Rs. 6000 which is included in the semester fees.
  • As of now Hostels are the feasible option though few students live in PG. Cost is Rs. 6000 per month, 24000 per semester.
  • College Mess is just average, they charge Rs. 25-35 per meal, Rs. 10 for breakfast which is very economical.
  • They try to serve food at a very economical rate and the mess menu is updated seasonally.
  • Class Rooms are modern, well equipped with Projectors and some even have movable furniture to involve student-faculty interaction.
  • There are more than 30 classrooms in multiple formats to accommodate a variety of needs of the programs.
  • Classrooms can accommodate student strength ranging from 25 to 180.
  • The whole campus has Wi-Fi connectivity and speed is also above average, normally 1-2 Mbps.
  • There are numerous Laboratories as per the requirement of the curriculum. In addition, the Institute has built research-oriented laboratories with own funding. Some of these labs are High-Performance Computing Lab, IOS and OSX Lab with Apple Computers, Data Center Lab.
  • There are also labs funded by Central Government agencies like the CLIA lab funded by Department of IT, Bio-informatics Lab funded by Department of Science and Technology.
  • Information Security lab sponsored by Government of India.

  • The Candidate should take JEE (MAIN) and possess a valid JEE Score published by CBSE.
  • He must separately apply for IIIT Bhubaneswar counseling.
  • Admissions are on the basis of the scores in JEE (Main) Score only.
  • 50℅ of seats are reserved for Odisha Domiciled Students and state category wise reservation for ST, SC, OBC, Women is applicable.
  • The 50% seats are open to all and don't have category wise reservation i.e. all other State students are considered general.
  • Typically the cut-offs for CSE is 165+ for Other State Students and 125+ for Odisha General Students.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • We have classes from Monday to Friday at International Institute of Information Technology, [IIIT] Bhubaneswar, normally from 9:15 to 5:15.
  • Exams are conducted twice in the semester, End Semester (50℅ weightage) and Mid-Semester (30℅ weight).
  • Teachers Assessment (5℅ weight) and Quizzes (15℅ weight).
  • Teaching is good and most of the topics are discussed in the classroom.
  • But again I want to stress that IIIT being a new college still needs to work more on academics and research.
  • Although the quality of teaching is good and a lot of innovative and challenging projects are given to us.
  • Overall my experience is good, but I want that the institute works more on its academic curriculum and update it according to the latest industrial needs.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

  • Course fee in International Institute of Information Technology, [IIIT] Bhubaneswar for my batch is approximately Rs. 76000 per semester which also includes Hostel charges.
  • For newer batches, Fees per semester is approximately Rs. 81,000.
  • A lot of scholarships are available to the students, Tuition Few Waiver (TFW) is available for students of Odisha domicile with a weak financial background.
  • Every year 3 students of each branch get this Scholarship i.e. 15 students per year.
  • Along with this, few more deserving students are given Special Tuition Fee Waiver as per institute's decision.
  • In addition state government and central government agencies have a larger number of schemes to provide a scholarship to students.
  • The student relations office helps the students in this regard.
  • The Institute has a tie-up with Andhra Bank to provide Educational Loan.
  • I am also availing an Education loan from Andhra Bank for my education.

  • College life overall is promising and getting better and better as years are progressing.
  • All the student societies are doing a fabulous job around the year.
  • The college provides ample opportunities for everyone to showcase talents in many fields like games, music, robotics, coding etc. It is upon students how they utilize these and become successful.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The course in which I am enrolled in is B.Tech (Computer Engineering). Those students who have qualified JEE Mains are eligible for admission in the college. After the result declaration of JEE Advanced, the college start releasing the cut-offs. Generally, they conduct 6-7 rounds and after that, there is a spot round. Also if after spot round if there are any seats available they conduct a special spot round which is done in August. First cut-off list for Computer Science Engineering is generally between the range 180-200 marks (obtained in JEE Mains). The last cut-off ranges between 120-140 marks. After the last cut-off, spot round is held in which the cut-off is decided according to the seats left in that branch. For spot round, the student needs to apply for that through the college website. Students need to check the college website for the date of the spot round.
