Placements and Internships

4

Now I am a 2nd year student so my internship is yet to come. But a stipend of almost INR 24k is given to each intern per month (which increases by about 7% every year). Top 80 or 90 (40%) students (based on academics) get placement each and every year.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are available (1 for boys, girls, PGT ). Very low renting cost. PGs outside college starts from INR 4000. Average of INR 40 per meal. There is an increase in the making of new buildings on the college campus. I can say that the infrastructure is developing. But already the infrastructure is far better than most of the colleges in WB.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

One should Qualify NEET UG with a 50% score in 10+2 or equivalent - Counseling is done through WBMCC and admission is done based on the State Merit list of NEET UG. NEET UG was the only exam to get admission in this College. The cutoff varies year to year but a 550 score or above in NEET UG would almost get you here.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

Classes start from 8 AM and end at 4 PM. This includes 2 hour ward duty, 3 lectures, 1 hour recess and 2 hour demonstration/ practical classes. Every week item test and part completion test are taken. Till now a very smooth experience. Good senior junior interaction. Apart from academics, our college is also active in sports and social events.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

The fee structure is INR 4500 per semester. National and Minority scholarships are given to eligible candidates. 20-25% of the students get a scholarship each year. No loans are needed.

Clubs and Associations

3

Many social and sports events takes place every year mainly in the month of March - April as there is less academic load during this period. Holi, Durga Puja are the main festivals celebrated.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The entrance examination I took was NEET UG. Cutoffs vary year to year along with the level of difficulty of the paper. In my year i.e. 2017 the cutoffs were around 500. So scoring above 500 meant a sure MBBS seat in West Bengal. The eligibility criteria specify that the student must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent with 50% marks in Physics Chemistry and Biology for UR category students.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : One of the greatest medical colleges of West Bengal is Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital, [NRSMCAH] Kolkata has to good faculties in various branches of medical sciences like Hematology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Neurology, Skin, etc and they serve to the people quite well. NRSMCH provides the both MBBS and MD, to get entry into bachelor medical science, one has to qualify the joint entrance examination organised by WBJEE Board or AIPMT exam, as it is one of the top class medical college, rank in those qualifying examination should be better enough (WBJEE- within 500, AIPMT-within 2000). This college has very good faculties in all departments of medical sciences and the atmosphere is quite overwhelming inside the colleges, having green all round, playground, food ball and all basic amenities that one needs.
