Summer internship had 100% students palced with stipend. The stipend used to go upto INR 25K. All the projects were paid projects. Very good companies like Dell, Nestle, CK, ITC, Deloitte, HDFC, Greenpark, etc used to come. good thing was that many of them were regular recruiters at Woxsen as well. Hence chances of getting PPO was high.
The campus was great 200+ Acre sprawling green campus. There were two badminton courts, one court for each of volleyball, basketball, football, cricket. There was a world class gym, two TT boards, 2 snooker boards, one swimming pool, and a 9-hole golf course! There were two separate hostels for boys and girls. Girls hostel used to be guarded by female guards only. all the rooms in Hostels were AC.
Woxsen used to consider 4 parameters for selection:
1. Entrance examination: CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT
2. Writing ability
3. Overall profile - Marks in major exams and extra-curricular activities
4. Interview performance
The interview panel used to comprise of industry leaders and/or IIM pass-outs. The interview itself was a great experience.
The class timing was very relaxing. It was around 3 hours in each half. However, sometimes one of the halves would be off. Students would then work on papers, prepare for projects, presentations or placement related drives. Faculty were mostly from the top IIMs (ABC) and many of them were from the industry with more than one or two decades on experience. They used to teach based on their practical experience. Hence the pedagogy was 100% case study based.
Woxsen believes in giving good scholarships. with scholarships, the fees used to be around INR 14/15 Lacs for two years PGDM course. It included everything, even the foreign tour to Singapore (Nanyang Technological University) for 1 week. Students usually got scholarship 20%-100% of the tuition fees depending on the profile.
Campus life was really good. There were 7-8 clubs, all run by students. They had many events around the year - WPL (organized by sports club - KRIDA), Cultural Fest, musical fests, Best Manager - etc. were some of the best events. Campus lie was very vibrant. All the festivals were observed within the campus.
