Placements and Internships

As much as the academics of the college is good, the jobs and internships scenario is not pretty great. Most of the students look at outside sources to get internships and jobs for themselves, tapping into their family sources. Having said that, a revamped college placement cell was formed this year and concerted efforts are being made to make the process of bringing in quality companies more systematic. The placement of the Department of Business/Management Studies is much better than other courses due to higher demand of business graduates in general.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

The infrastructure is one of the positive aspects of the college. The lush green lawn (which is huge) makes for a very picturesque view, especially during winter mornings. The new L-shaped block looks good, and even the old block is well maintained.

Academics and Faculty

The academics of the college is more rigorous than most of the other colleges in Delhi University. You have to maintain your attendance at least above 67% in order to be able to become eligible to sit for the examinations. The timetable, on the other hand, is pretty relaxed, with average classes for most courses being from 9AM to 3PM. It is even better for commerce students like myself as we don't have lab classes as Science students do. The College is also very famous for its science courses with experienced faculty members.

Fees and Scholarships

The fees for Delhi University is almost negligible (50,000 INR approx) for college education. However, various grants and partial or full scholarships are still provided to those in need.

Clubs and Associations

There is everything you can find in a Delhi University on offer in DDUC. Voices- The Debating Society and Yaavnika- The Theatre Society are among the noteworthy societies. The Dance and Music Societies also participate in all the major fests happening in Delhi and India.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The cut off is very high for English hon. at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Delhi University. You need good marks in best four subjects in the 12th board exam to get admission. English Hons admissions are merit based.you need to give entrance exam only MA for English Hons. And The highest cutting for general category is basically 95%.
