Placements and Internships

2.5

Internships are not provided from the college. But I got an internship in a Paper factory without any stipend. The college is building the web portal to connect with alumni and to build the network.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 4 hostels on the campuses, among them three is for boys and one is for girls. All boys hostels are on the college campuses. Our mess is near to our hostels. Food offered was good. Food costs around INR 1,000 per month. Per meal costs around INR 40. Classes and labs were good.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Jawaharlal Nehru National College Of Engineering offers four-year B.E. in seven specializations. Candidates who have passed 12th in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry (Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Biology) with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates) are considered eligible to get admission in B.E. course. Selection of the candidates for admission is done on the basis of their merit in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). KCET-2012, I Scored 10717 rank. I have selected this college because it had a reputed name and it is in my city. I was interested in mechanical engineering so I joined this course.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

Our daily routine is from 7 am to 5 pm. The faculty of the college is well experienced. The average experience of the faculty is about 23 years (mechanical faculty). They are very helping and focused. They helped us in every aspect.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

The fee structure was very feasible. I had got the seat in Supernumerary Quota. So for that, I had to pay INR 31,000 at the first year. Then onwards I have to pay only INR 3000 to INR 4000 per annum. And for others it was 36000 per year and first year it was around 70000. Scholarships are provided to students who have scored 80% to 85% of marks in entrance exam with a sum of INR 1000. Scholarships of INR 10,000 with 85% to 90% of marks and INR 25,000 for students above 90% of marks.

Clubs and Associations

2.5

There were events like Tech zone which was a national level technical symposium. The students of various colleges participated. Our college day called JANVEY was celebrated on the campuses.
