There are about 10 hostels which are in good condition. Food quality is average and doesn't cost much. The infrastructure is good.

Class timing is from 8 am to 5 pm. Quality of teaching is average.
Fees and Scholarships
The course fee is INR 1 lakh per annum and if a loan is needed it can be easily availed by any banks like SBI etc.
Clubs and Associations
There are a students union body and many other clubs for all kind of activities. Main tech fest is tecnoesis and cultural fest is incandescence.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The gateway to one of the institutes of national importance is through JEE MAIN entrance examination. Up till last year, the eligibility criteria for selection was entrance exam plus board exams based on which selections were done. It is considered one of the best institutions in eastern India. Most of the courses here are NBA accredited. For cutoffs, CSAB website can be checked. Typically,for other states cutoffs for general category are around 20000.

The only gateway to National Institute of Technology is JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Mains). JEE is considered as one of the most prestigious entrance examnations for premier engineering colleges of India. The cutoff keeps on fluctuating from time to time dependindg on the ongoing competition level of the nation.
