Rajneet Garg's Review on Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University, New Delhi

I interned with WWF India and Barclays Shared Services. My current job offer is from The Smart Cube. The Career Development Centre(CDC) is in charge of the Internships and Jobs prospects in college. An internship is compulsory as part of the curriculum in the penultimate year and the CDC provides ample opportunity for students to enroll themselves in one. Job offers are made from various industries including Consulting, Sales and Marketing, Investment Banking. Multiple reputed companies have been hiring from the college for the past couple of years. The college lacks a career services department to give guidance to students on various career prospects.

The curriculum is a healthy mixture of learning through lectures, books, presentations, assignments and projects. From the two main courses, BBS and BFIA, specializations are available for the former (finance, marketing, HR) while the latter is a finance specific course. Both are quality courses and can be taken up depending on the level of generalization a student prefers at an undergrad level. Both open up various avenues for a career right after graduation. The quality of teaching has scope for improvement in terms of making it more activity oriented. With an increased intake of some new faculty, the standards are in the process of being brought up to earlier levels. There are regular quality guest lecturers and there is satisfactory professor accessibility outside classes. The library is below average.

The college fees is INR 25000-30000 for three years depending on the course. This is pretty inexpensive and there isn't requirement for any outside financing for the average student. However, scholarships and concessions are provided on need basis and are looked at from a case to case basis.
