Gopal Krishnan's Review on IIST - Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology

It's like if you get above 7.5 CGPA, you get everything free.The worst thing about IIST is its placement. All top students go for or get hired by ISRO. So most of the reputed companies don't approach our college. Even then some of our seniors have got into Mercedes-Benz and some other companies.

There are around 14 hostels and most of the rooms are vacant as of now. As mentioned earlier, hostels and mess have no proper facility. Food is average. You'll get used it to gradually. There is an option for special meals and dinner for the first 90 students those who book in advance for it and its free. Labs are well equipped but lesser in number. The library is completely air-conditioned and you can study very much peacefully there.

A good rank in JEE ADVANCED is enough to get into Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. A cutoff is up to AIR 8000 for general category. So it's very much easier to get into Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.

There are 4 periods and one lab class every day. From 9 AM in the morning till 3:30 PM in the evening.Teaching is really good. Staffs are very much friendly towards students in doubt clarifications and other things. Since we've less no.of students in our college(around 130 in each year)....it's very easy to mingle with everyone. It gives us a great multicultural environment.Seniors are also very much helpful.

If you get above 7.5 CGPA on every semester, there is no fee required and also you will be getting INR 3000 each semester for buying educational books and INR 500 for novels and suppose if u get above 7.5 CGPA.The fee is INR 48,400 for those who get below 7.5 CGPA. 

Clubs here are very much inactive. Students are very much focused on their studies, assignments and project works. College life here will be awesome if you focus on studies and also you will get many live projects to work.
