We will get internships from other institutes or companies, I hope. We cant imagine about our placements considering our condition. We are in 2nd year, lets see about this in 4th year. Until then, I have no hopes
IT Puducherry doesn't really 'own' anything yet, so it's perhaps too early to comment on the infrastructure. As of now, the college is being run in the Government Arts College, which is pretty small. Even in that, they are allotted only one tiny block having two floors. This means that the entire institute exists only on eight rooms! The facilities are quite shabby as well; the computer lab has about 30 computers, some of which are quite moody. The library is really minuscule, and has a pathetically low number of books. Students have to go to the nearby polytechnic college for their practicals, and even those labs are not up to the mark.
Another big problem, and a potential question mark even for the future. The college has faced issues in attracting professors, in terms of both quantity and quality. Professors from some nearby colleges teach here part time, and in many cases aren't qualified enough to be teaching at an NIT. Since it's not full-time work, sticking to schedules becomes difficult; in the past, there have been instances wherein the entire syllabus has to be completed in a week, because the visiting professors just couldn't come to class regularly.
